Then again the problem is mass RvR battle like 100 vs 100 but you wil prolly still be fine . |

I was curious how this info is coming along also. People went out and updated PC's and such for AoC and ended up spending a lot of money for nothing in many cases. Are there any known issues with any specific hardware? Such as the common problems with Catalyst/ATI? Or those all running alright with WAR? (Without breaking NDA if possible, naturally)

It's not going to take much in the way of system requirements to run this game. In fact, the goal is to allow all computers made within the last 3 years to be able to run WAR. If you plan on getting into some big RvR fights, however, you're going to need to upgrade your video card and memory especially. With all those polygons flying around near you, you're going to need a decent machine.
Which is why you have people buying some high end computer equipment in preparation for WAR. I've got a NVIDIA 9600 w/ 1GB of onboard memory (onboard memory on the video card is important), 4 GB regular memory, and a Dual AMD 3.0 GHz CPU myself. |

Oh yeah, I am all about the approach mythic is taking, to allow people to play with less than perfect "ULtra Gamer" computers. My question was more to the effect of... the ATI based graphics cards have had some new additions to their family lately that look great on paper. But when it comes to their drivers, the CAT drivers have had long time issues with not running games, or having constant crash issues. So I was more asking if anyone using ATI/Catalyst systems has issues, or if people KNOW of issues that have been occuring (As is the standard) with CAT specific CAT drivers, so people can know, and be prepared to make such fixes when launch comes. I am all for seeing a wonderful launch of this game and do not want anyone to suffer crashes with simple fixes available. :) Personally, I have always used Nvidia drivers (Looking at the new 98GTX+ series launching this month actually) but I do not want my competition to die because of their GPU. ;) I rather they fall by my chop and chant.

According to all that I have read it wont take an incredible system to run it. Me personally I can afford a cranked up system , but im sure EA/Mythic knows not everyone can do this. You should be fine. |

With the current push of graphics cards, I am wary of problems that may arise with new drivers. Nvidia is downing to the 55nm NM build on their 9800 series, and ATI is running the new 4800 series. One of the largest launch issues I see is easily resolved with upgrading, or downgrading graphics drivers. Even on the newer cards. Which while not needed, people WILL be buying, to handle the large scale RVR.
