"Next time i log in SWG ill probably see elves and druids"

i know the first expansion of LOTRO will come out soonish and it will be the mines of moria... but... i was wondering if they have said anything (or hinted) about making all of middle earth? (or at least the world from the "Lord of the rings" trilogy  and "the hobbit "

so far (seing that i am a new player) i see the world  of eriador is big, but not impressive yet. (when speaking of its size, the art is incredible, specially if played at Dx10) , and if they implement Rohan, Gondor,Mordor, Rhovanion,Forodwaith, i think they would be on top when it comes to world.

so does any one have some news or hints about it?

I'd assume thats the aim - aslong as theres a good playerbase financially supporting them!

According to what Jeffrey Steefel revealed at the recent Mines of Moria presentation, Turbine plans to add a new "volume" each year. The expansion "The Mines of Moria" and all the following content updates (patches) will signal the end of Tolkien's first book - The Fellowship of the Ring - and set the tone for the second book - The Two Towers - which should allow players to visit Rohan, the Dead Marshes etc. What happens after that is unsure until now, however, Turbine plans to gradually fill out the entirety of Middle-earth.

I dont have a cuote but I know they've said they intende to do the whole Middle-earth in time... and since they have rights to the license to 2014 (with extension 2017) they will have plenty of time to do it all :)

"A world which has to create its own justice is a world without hope."

I've expressed my views on this for awhile now, so i'll just keep it short this time.

I think Turbine should've opened up all the famous places that are known, like rohan, gondor, mordor, etc.... instead of restricting us to eriador only.  I can understand why they restricted us though, they wanted us to go through the story in a linear fashion.

Sorry observer but I beleive if they had done this we would have had an epic fail on the same scale of AOC. What we got was a highly polished game that is very playable with abunch of content in this small area of ME. This only enhances the things they can do in the future.

For me, I am really excited to see how much the dev team has progressed.   I hope they try and push the envelope a bit and expaned the game in all area's to give the veteran player a whole new feel.  The one thing that will really disappoint me is if the game is just a continuation of the current 1-50 game.   50-60 should start to feel more dangerous and challenging as we get further from Bree and the Shire.

You have to remember The Original "Middle Earth Online" had 16 classes and you could write books in game of your ventures.

LOTRO and MEO are two different games, sadly LOTRO is what went live.

Yeah, possibly.  Especially with all the zoning between the lands, but swift travel could help that. ;)

My only fear is that by the time we get to see lothlorien, mirkwood, helm's deep, etc.... there won't be that many people playing, especially when the newer MMOs come out.

MEO could've been great, but at least Turbine got LOTR out the door and in a playable state. :P
