War is Coming!

D&DO has a very unique combat system. You can play it like a first-person shooter.

Guild Wars, because it's skill-based.

Something like AoC but a bit less Simon says like. Guild Wars has a pretty good one, wish it were a bit more active but it's faster than most.

Guild Wars has basically the same combat system of most MMO's click something auto-attack it and then use skills/abilities during combat.  I will say the way you can customize your character w/ different abilities and skills in GW is amazing, makes the game very fun and makes each character different (well in theory).  Honestly AoC and DDO both have a unique take on combat that more games should look to enhance.  So I'd say it's between one of those two games.

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic

I like the fact that some mmos are going for real time combat like tabula rasa or AoC but could be done better hoping it will be better in SG worlds.  And Aions combat while in flight sounds cool too.  Maybe one day combat in mmos will be like Devil May Cry or NInja Gaiden.

abc

i've tried every mmo that exist and i would say city of heroes/villains has the best combat system, it almost feels like an action rpg which is a good thing.

AC DT (in a bugless world).  Havent tried AOC yet sounds like its twitchier than mmo out so I'd have to try sometime.  Planetside is easily #2

I haven't found one that was the best.  Most of them are pretty damn similar.  Everyone hates on WoW, but I've always felt it was better than the rest.  I liked Phantasy Star Universe's hack & slash/action style, but they could've done so much more, it was way too simple.  Until someone releases a MMO with action/fighter style combat combined with MMO style spells/attacks, I won't be 100% satisfied.  I will just enjoy what we have for now, though.

waiting for WAR, Aion

I just wish it had the deep customization of EVE.
