That makes sense, thanks man! That would make the EU section a deal lower than the 292K someone gave us earlier. It would make it closer to 100K, which would place it on serious decline from the units sold over there. Granted, when added to the US number...they would still breach 200K (how much I cannot be sure...no such figure has been given to us yet) which would make them a healthy success.....but no where NEAR the 700-1,000K being virally marketed to us by fans. In fact....the EU numbers (even when viewed as a wide ballpark) pretty much demand we accept that the game isn't even at 500K. Most likely not even at 400K either. I won't swear in on that, though. There is enough wiggle room for 400K to be possible depending on the US return. Next month, we can do this again to guess retention from that point. |

Seriously tode....you don't have a clue. MMO players are the kind of folk that will write up detailed spreadsheets about each and every class skill and location in a given game. Why in the hell is it so surprising that someone did something a simple as a "search function" to ballpark online players???? No one is paying for hate speech, aight. The very ideal is stupid, because hate is something you get for free. There are always armies of people who are up and ready to spill hate for any reason. Why in gods name would you pay for it? The only kind of marketing that gets paid for is supportive marketing, because its the only end of that spectrum that will find a need for financial encouragement. End of story. Bottom line. You're a bloody tool, and its really silly to hear half of what comes out of your mouth at this point. |

yes... controlling the forum. every pro-AoC thread is deleted instantly, the poster is hunted down and burned alive and their children have their eyes gouged out.
Other people actually do something and you insult them, but bring no evidence to disprove what they have said. then when prompted for evidence, you simply state you are too lazy to get it. I guess leveling up to 5 in a game that is apparently great is too much work for something to do unless they are getting paid? |

You can take SWG for example. At peak they had 450k subs and 24 servers limited to 3k players online. |

Avery has typed his fingers off trying to logically discuss the merits and issues with AoC, and he has been met with a well organized stream of anti marketing...folks don't do that unless they have some incentive, this forum has been reduced to nothing more than a lets bash AoC platform. You can not say with a straight face that it hasn’t. Developers are looking at how MMORPG.com handles this, if they continue to allow this kind of Biased Bullshit it will hurt their credibility. |

that should be the numbers also for AOC based on the number of units sold. a 45-55% retention rate is the norm for mmmorpg's of this kind over the first 3 to 6 months, unless they are really really bad. |

Todeswulf kills me. If anyone here is a paid corporate lackey it's him. He: Defends the corporation at all times, without logic. Attacks anyone who suggests the corporation is anything less than perfect He accuses others of being what he is to throw off the scent.
He is unwilling to: Provide a defensible reason for his position because to do so would be counterproducitve
your right MMORPG should clean this forum up, if they removed your personal attacks and left the good discussions from others, it would be fine.

how is NOT removing threads in a forum biased? maybe the real reason the AoC forum is full of complaints is because... there is a lot to complain about!
this thread is useful. We aren't given numbers by funcom, so someone went out and got them and posted them for people. how is that not useful? YOU come and insult the person for doing it, claim they are being paid. aren't you acting like exactly what you are complaining about?
there is no organized anti-AoC group on these forums, there is no reason behind all the hate besides the game deserving it. people don't need to be paid to complain that they got ripped off, that they spent 50$ and didn't get what was on the box.
Until you bring something logical to the table besides claims that all the people who don't like AoC are just being paid to say that, then you will be a part of what you apparently dislike. |

Indeed it has, but there is of course a great incentive. Not money. (Its a silly accusation which makes you look foolish btw) It is justified hatred. Perhaps you hadn't considered that many people feel genuinely aggrieved at being misled by Funcom and want to ensure that AoC fails by making sure potential buyers know how poor the product is? I can see people going to great lengths to get revenge on Funcom.. and in the process doing their fellow gamers a favour. Makes far more sense than your conspiracy theories. |
