If you're like me you've played Neverwinter Nights on AOL, which happened to be the first MMO EVER created. The game was, without a doubt, a success and spawned ideas for furture titles, the ones in which we play today.
Daimonin's combat and quest mechanics are very close to NWN AOL's except for one key factor, it 's not turn based. Throughout the Daimonin beta process, which has been a long one indeed, I have seen great potential. This is a game you cannot judge solely by graphics, rather the game play. I believe the old school inspired D&D rules and ease of mechanics leaves this title as, 'a Diamond in the dust'
If you can get over the 2D graphics and the lack of players, Daimonin will promiss you a blast from the past and hordes of loot to aquire throughout your adventures.
COMPLETELY FREE

Yeah, NWN is a single-player RPG with multiplayer capabilities - by no means a MMO. |

You guys have it wrong; he means this NWN:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neverwinter_Nights_%28AOL_game%29
a quote from the article:
Neverwinter Nights was the first massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) to display graphics,[1] and ran from 1991 to 1997 on AOL. Neverwinter Nights was followed by a series of progressively more successful graphical MMORPGs, including Ultima Online (1997–Present), Everquest (1999–Present) and World of Warcraft (2004-present). By 2000 the category was well-established and multiple titles began to appear in North America and in Asia.
A bit of MMO history!

Although I don't believe that graphics are more important than gameplay I do believe that nowadays good gameplay does mean you have to completely sacrifice graphics. With the way games are advance we're quite close to being able to "eat our cake and have it too" so to speak and personally just feels like a cake that won't be back in the box after you've finished eating it. Old games have merit but only classics hold ground. |
