It can help finding a job/employee/business partner/contract etc. but it's a social networking site focusing on business contacts. The fact that someone has "looking for career opportunities" checked doesn't mean he's there to get out of his current job. Everyone I know from IT has a similar profile there with everything checked, and I assure you they're not looking for a job at the moment. |

New ventures / business deals like uhmm a publisher maybe? E.g. the new AudioVisual Entertainment division involving employees of both AVE & Aventurine... Or maybe you could read again what I wrote before because you missed the point. It's social networking site, a professional myspace if you will.
And FFS that's the 3rd time I try to post, MMORPG.com wouldn't let me post because they want me to claim a super-duper prize of 1000 silver ignots in some Chinese grind MMO that I supposedly won |

Sad to see the workload some trolls put themself through in their desperate attempts seeking ways to miscredit Aventurine and the Devs. It went from sad to pathological after Aventurine signed with AVE. Some trolls here need medical help. Aragon - Member of B@D guild |

Do you really believe that it is AMAZINGLY UNIQUE AND A QUESTIONABLE BUSINESS PRACTICE for an employee of a company to be looking for bigger and better things? Who the hell ever wants the offers to stop rolling in? This is their pet project, and if you know anything about programming or telecommuting, you can certainly be contracted out on projects, work from home, while working on another project, and have more money in your bank at the end. I don't understand why you're even bringing this up other than to stir the pot. It's a pretty easy answer. |

A bunch of no-names from no-name companies, yep, this is definitely the solid proof I have been seeking. /facepalm

He already has a career! What about job inquiries? Is he going to moonlight or something LOL. The point is, you have a developer who is SUPPOSED to be working on DF and mainly DF. Not looking to start a new jopb. A lot of people including myself use LinkedIn from a contacts perspective I for one have not updated all of the CV components for 2 years, but have a multittude of references from people I have worked with over the last 2 years(which in a lot of cases is why i use the site useful for reputation purposes and surprising what you can get out of this. Very useful, I wouldn't read too much into the content unless you can prove they have updated their profiles recently and gone out of thier way to activl;ey look for "Work ". Considering new business opportunities is something that anyone who is capable and of a certain nature will do as a matter of course. Nothing wrong with this.

The following is only my personal opinion and speculation, I’m not stating it as fact. I think people who are dismissing this information should try to be more impartial and objective and actually consider what implications it has. The founding members of Razorwax and Aventurine who are still apparently the core developers and producers of Darkfall seemed to all have little to no previous experience in online gaming development or production. Most of them where basically extremely ambitious and inexperienced rank amateurs learning as they went. Most if not all of the developers obviously have been working in other jobs or on contracts during the development of Darkfall to support themselves and possibly Aventurine financially, and are still apparently looking for future prospects. People like Kjetil Helland, Henning Ludvigson and Erik Sperling Johansen who are successful in there careers in other sectors, outside employment in development of Darkfall have obviously been pursuing those careers probably at the expense of development. Based on what evidence I have seen, many or most of the other developers working for Aventurine are recruited internally from the Greece domestically, mostly interns or employees of limited experience working for low wages. The “professional testers” likewise are also sourced from local colleges and universities or are again interns. Considering the information about the owner of Aventurine and Darkfall, I think it’s a distinct possibility that the majority of the investment for this project comes from the developers themselves, its almost a self financed project, especially from the creation of Aventurine. In light of this information, Darkfall appears much more like a part time project, without a definite schedule or timeline, that is being run unprofessionally and defectively due to incompetence, inexperience and lack of sufficient time and money, with very little prospect of successfully coming to fruition anytime soon. But hopefully all this is erroneous speculation, and Darkfall will start Beta soon and will successfully launch by the end of the year feature complete and polished to Huge critical acclaim. |

Seeing how he is the CEO of a video game publishing company, I'd hope so, new ventures is how their businesses thrive, not so much the case with development studios that have their entire staff dedicated to a actually creating a product. The moment you see him interested in "career opportunities" or "job inquiries" is the moment you should start getting worried. There's nothing wrong with wanting better job opportunities, but it doesn't exactly spell confidence or devotion towards your current one. |

Originally posted by Shawk Your taking one thing in isolation way out of context and exaggerating it to absurdity, in an attempt to dismiss or ignore a whole body of evidence ,and to discredit me. Why don’t you want to talk about things like It appears the founders and lead developers / producers of Darkfall probably have very little to no experience in games development and have been learning as they do the job. That Claus the creator, founder and lead developer of Darkfall and Razorwax has zero game development experience. Or that it appears the majority of this games development team are not and have not even been working fulltime on Darkfall, Darkfall it appears is not even a priority for most of them, it’s a part time commitment like a hobby. Or that Henning Ludvigson is the owner of Aventurine and Darkfall, and other developers and produces are also co-owners, this is probably self financed and all or most of its investment comes from the developers and producers themselves. Or that Tasos this company’s public face considers himself a specialist in game development, community relations and community building, but in fact appears to also have zero experience in game development or community relations prior to Aventurine, despite what he may or may not of claimed at the recent Greek gaming conference. That this games development appears to be so poorly financed that’s its core developers have to have second jobs to pay the bills, or don’t appear to of had much involvement or only a limited amount of involvement since the start. That many of the additional developers and “professional testers” have been recruited domestically from Greece, from colleges and universities for free or are interns or people again of very limited experience in online game development. |

I can say definitivley that Claus is here to stay. Maybe he wants more money on the side; gaming isn't exactly known for being a money maker.
![]() Kjetil also has been here since day one, I couldn't say why that reflects otherwise. It started out with Claus, Kjetil, Ricki, and Erik; Henning and Bjorn came in and out as necessary during that period while also pursuing their own works. You cant get much more of an official confirmation that at least some of what I’m saying is probably true then this http://forums.darkfallonline.com/showthread.php?t=58869 |
