I was asking a question. Your "quick glance" missed it and you pulled out the old troll argument. How about you answer some of the questions here instead of just posting meaningless replies. I will help you. 1: Can you confirm ingame that what I wrote is true? 2: Do you expect Funcom to write changes like these in their patchnotes? and optionally, 3: If this is indeed true, what would be the next logical thing for Funcom to change in order to make it more friendly for kids? My answer for 3 is: Give all female toons a bra you cant take off. |

Read the post again Sherlock. I said it was possibly a troll post, and made it quite clear I had taken a quick glance at the forum, not an indepth one. Now if you want to keep ripping into me for making a comment about possibilities, not making an accusation, then please go right ahead, it'll say a lot about you. The thread that was linked earlier in this one does indeed talk about these changes and I'll refer you to my first post in this thread as my first comment assumed this was true.
It's called keeping a neutral stance Sherlock, something you seem to have trouble doing considering your 'fanboi' reply. Go right ahead if you want to vent some more, I'm not going to bother any further discussion on this thread. |

The real world is a visceral, nasty, scary place, with cursing, gore, fear.... oh yeah, female and male nudity. Some of us who have been desensitized by the real world are getting tired of playing cartoon games. I've suffered through these terrors in real life, and I would like to explore these attributes of life in the safety of a virtual fantasy world. AoC's draw was that it was going to be the mmo(fantasy)rpg to include just a taste of real life, mild nudity, and mild slurs. Can't you understand how betrayed some of us are that these very minor quibbles are being omitted now... basically just being a re-hashing of EQII? And what the hell is so insulting about a nipple anyway? |

Hahaha Umm... so how about you answer those questions? Ah, nevermind, you are to busy with your Sher-Sher-Sherlock thingy. |

That'd be like taking the 'nerd' out of Star Trek, you can't really. It's an integral part of the lore. I'd bet it's for the console gamers more than the PC ones. PC games mean alone time on the computer for kids, and we all know PC stands for Porn Collector to teens. But I can't think of very many console games that are showing T and A, and those are always in the news when they hit. GTAs, that volleyball game with naked ladies, etc.. Either way, pretty weak of Fucom to put the stuff in, then take it out, which will probably involve some work to do, when the game needs a solid debugging as is and the artists are busy with other stuff than making bras for already made character models. |

Yes, you should be angry...nay, outraged...that your ability to have hours of fun with pixelated tits has been changed. In case it isn't obvious, /sarcasm off.
I couldn't care less either way. But, its not even about the porn. They are removing the mature themed LORE for christsakes! Or, at least, being speculated to. Regardless, its very important that you understand that, in removing said parts of the game, they completely remove themselves from EVERYTHING they said they were about. They told players that they DELIBERATELY kept the mature theme and nature of Conan. They marketed to those players, and got those players to buy the game. By removing it, they are essentially taking away the very last aspect of their game they had left to offer from their originally listed set of things. Honestly...will you guys not stand up for anything? Has the MMO market really desensitized you so much...that you totally accept, not only failing to provide even HALF of what was promised, but also removing many of the things they DID provide? The only reason I saw for any player to remain here was because they really liked the Conan lore and mature theme (which was showcased with their graphic engine). In case you didn't know....what is being discussed here is the fact they could be removing that to make way for the "new players" they plan on getting. I've heard THIS before...and it cost that company 200-300K players as a result. Its too late to market to a younger crowd, or even a different crowd. They have already spent too long hyping the game as it was....changing things is gonna sink em. |

Tits and gore is not "Mature content", it's "Inmature content". |

Originally posted by altairzq I think it would have been much better just to keep the options to display it there then remove it entirely if that's what they indeed have done. I am an ex-AoC player aswell, but cancelled due to lack of content and too many broken promises and features. |

They are removing more than tits and gore silly bean. Also, you can drop the elitism. Not thinking tits and gore is mature does not make you better than anyone. Frankly, if such things WERE only for immature people...then Porn would be legal for sale to minors. It IS content intended for mature players. But they are removing FAR more than "just" tits and gore. Its what they are taking away from the NPC text and speech that hurts the most. They are (perhaps, I can't swear) removing the very heart and soul of the universe (which is VERY mature stuff...you wouldn't want your kids to read it) which they swore to everyone they would stay true to. I'm sorry if you cannot follow as to why people would be upset. |
