It depends on a lot of factors, if they have one now and Darkfall ends up being as awesome as it claims to be, they might lose it to the game, if they didn't already have one and Darkfall delivers then chances are close to 0. If Darkfall fails to deliver then their vital status will probably remain the same. Things don't look very good for them in this hypothetical situation.

So we aim for a deal that make both parts happy.

I think its rather fun that not even the DF trolls have MMOs to play right now, making everyone wait for DF. Kinnda ironic.

There is always another game in development.. not much to worry about the vaporware trolls.

I've had enough of people throwing around the word "troll" like it's going out of style.  If this was 2005 when they first announced clan beta sign ups, maybe people had the right to call others a troll if they said it's vaporware.

But not anymore...

While I am not crying "vaproware", after 2005, and the 2007 "summer beta" debacle, I think anyone who does say vaporware, or seriously want to question the management and development process at Aventurine has every right to.  The devs have been misleading on countless occassions and their management of this project has been dismal at best.  People don't cry vaporware for no reason at all, you blind fanbois surely have some sense of reality and understand there are valid reasons why so many might think that, but I may be wrong.

I honestly believe this game will be coming out eventually and many people will be dissapointed.  This game is looking more and more like Shadowbane and Neocron everyday, yet it still gets compared to UO so much.  DarkFall is seriously lacking the RPG element of UO, notice how the devs begin using the term "MMOG" now and "MMO" in their journals.  UO had a unique immersiveness that people still crave for.  Freedom was not the only ingredient to that immersiveness.  Darkfall might turn out to be a fun game, maybe a better version of SB or Neocron(anything is better than this game).  There may be some fun pew pew times in the game,  but it won't be as immersive as people are expecting and will definately not have the immersive RPG elements of UO that made it into the virtual heroine that it was. 

This game is going to be about pew pew 24/7 and it's going to get old fast when people find out there's nothing else to do except that.  Pew-pew games like Quake and Guild Wars are free.  MMORPGs are games that you pay for.  Aventurine will learn this lesson the hard way.  There won't be anything for the non-pew pew griefers to do (unless you absolutely love crafting).  People are just eventually going to get bored and there won't be a need to keep paying.

I don't think this game is coming out this year.  They are clearly just not ready.  Perhaps Aventurine just got a little shaken by AoC(another disaster) and they are attempting to rush things and inject more false dates into the media.
