age of conan mmorpg.com boards have alot of people who are dissapointed once they reach higher levels being there is not much engame content. more so than the other boards. I see more negative comments on these boards than positive. sure there are a few who still love it, but you see them a month later with the same old "im not happy anymore" post. the game is i quick 30 day fix(or however long it take to reach 60-80), then you move on, no one wants to stick around if there is no true endgame. i played beta, by the time retail came out knowing how unfinished it was i was not going to be a dumb a** and buy it. overall the game is a big disappointment to your average level 80, like i said some 80's may stick around , but the majority of them unsubscribe. LOTRO and WOW for the win, i still subscribe to both after years, AOC i wouldn't touch after a few months of beta and test live. i also did test live all they way up until last week, so we were playing the same game you were and got patches before you retailers. IMO he game lacks at current state, when playing Necro class i got to like level 60 using one spell the whole time. in WOW you are forced to mix it up and use your buffs or you will die, AOC has no balance. The lore sucks, you cant deny that. the drops are retarded. my level 60 almost looked like my lvl 10. the social stinks. system requirement are retard even though i have an 8800, core duo, gamepaly is bore, quest are repetative, graphics are great though..but thats it. |

Do you accept other consumer goods and service in a similar state of disrepair and incomletedness? Even people who like it up the jacksy usually prefer a bit of lubricant and a chance to brace themselves. Of course those in the know realise there are two completely different games the early one that is pretty sweet and the one that comes after the first is completed that is.................non existent. |

heh, was going to say, read it twice and didn't see xbox sales. although isn't this coming out on xbox next year too? Depends on how FC's cash flow is I would think. I saw a prospectus a while back on one thread but don't recall how much liquid assets they have. Their stock is falling pretty fast and right now I would think most of their cash inflow and development assets are going toward trying to keep their heads above water with all of the issues and retention problems they are having with the PC version.
I'm short FC! |

The best fun is to game with your friends. :) |
I used to use Xfire but didn't see any value in using it so haven't been using it for a while and I know for certain that many of my friends don't even know about Xfire or don't care about it. So using Xfire as a source is only valid for the amount of players using it not for the majoirty that don't bother to use it. |

Looking at the trend now, it seems the graph could be ending up stable at around 20k. Now I know it's too early to predict and too many factors involved, but that would indeed back up the subscriber statement in the press release. |

I was referring to this statement: "In the second month after release it is also clear that Age of Conan has taken the position as the undisputed #2 subscription MMO in the western world."
The only MMO I can think of that held the last #2 spot is EVE online with approximately 250k subscribers. Eve online has around 13k Xfire hours at peak. |

Right now AoC is still logging 30K hours on weeknights, more on weekends of course. The losses have slowed to about 6K to 8K a week in hours played on XFire. That has been a pretty steady trend now for the last couple of weeks. That will slow to a 4K a week loss, then 2K a week then 1 K a week. But I figure by the end of August it will be down to around 5K or so. By December it will be mostly a forgotten game unless FC drops some serious content in. Good steady box sales are what is really keeping it alive right now, but there is just not enough depth to the game to hold peoples attention for long. People need to have short and long range goals ( gear equipment, housing, etc) to meet to keep them around and FC failed to realize that. The game gets real boring real fast. |

Jackdog telling it how it is. Hehe I remember you getting flak over your views of Dark & Light. End game there is little to choose between AoC & D&L gameplay wise. Thats bad. |
