"Instead of seeing ugly screenshots, why not see the improvements that have been made and stop being so fraking negative..."

Problem is, they aren't showing progress.. I mean.. I was looking at the latest pics and find them ugly... You can call it negative, but don't forget it's my money they want and for now I don't find it worth my money (based on those pics).

I did play WoW for 2 years and am playing EVE for a year now. And no, I aint no WoW fanboy but I do find the Blizzard style great (except for the WoW gameplay!).

What I don't understand why don't they remove the ugly screens and replace them with newer versions? Maybe even place a new version of the same screenshot with the old screenshot so people can see the progress.

For me, just like alot of others who aren't playing the beta, it's the information placed on the website that makes me decide to play or not. Placing and keeping, absolute screenshots they are giving me a wrong impression.

Really it is their fault for thinking that people could look at a date and figure out when the screenshots were taken. It was also their assumption that people could figure out that the game is still in beta and still being made! All those people who do projects and show photos of start to finish are misleading people! They might actually think that the half done project is the finished result!

I mean only Einstein himself could have figured all that out! Seriously though the screens are dated for a reason! To go back and retake all screenshots would be an annoying task to say the least. It is like asking all News agencies to go back to previous months news stories and update them with the outcome.

If you don't like the old screenshots then don't look at them. Look at the most current screenshots and thats it. They aren't giving you the wrong impression but rather you are drawing conclusions from things that are work in progress. Bottom line is you either don't like the style, which if you don't like it at this point then find another game or stop complaining, or you don't like the graphics(actual details) which are far and away better than say WoW. Armor looks like armor and not latex paint? The hell you say!

As for WoW style/graphics. I think they are the most MEH things ever. I can't say I was disappointed with them but never once in 3 years did I think they were great. You name it from color palatte to designs I could care less.

From what I have seen....graphics are WOW like...not detailed...not realistic....not crisp.Gameplay better be outstanding or this will be the second major flop this year.

You obviously haven't looked at much then.  You also obviously haven't followed many betas.  You're like someone complaining about a half decorated cake.  The closer the game gets to release, the better the graphics are going to look.  When the final product is on the market, I think a lot of people are going to be sat down and shut up.

Edit: Of course, the fascination with graphics cracks me up too.  If people want a pretty game to play there's a million f2p pretty grinders out there you can go prance around in.  I personally want a little meat in my game, a little purpose, plot, fun...I know, crazy talk eh?  If graphics are all you care about, there's plenty of eye candy out there for you to go get fat on.  For those who want a little more from their gaming experience, WAR is looking like it plans to deliver.

Like it matters what you oranyone else thinks right now anyway?  You CAN'T buy it yet anyway, so wait til release and then seewhat it looks like...

Or actually try it and see ifTHE GAME is good before you make a desicion based on something meaningless like graphics...   this is a GAME, so rate it on GAMEPLAY

I have to disagree.  I think both the models and the environment look great and, above all, look like what Warhammer should look like.  They look great, they look Warhammerish, and yet gameplay is smooth and will allow for some nice sized RvR battles.  I can't ask for much more than that.

I would not play a MMO that had outstanding, amazing graphics if the game was no fun.

Totally agree but understand this is not the 1990's anymore. Blizzard was was able to get away with it because expectations were low. Now that the gaming expectations are much higher people don't settle for less anymore either.  Unless they delay the release I think what we are seeing is what people are getting graphics and gameplay wise. Wether people feel it is good or not it is up to them to decide.

I disagree... in trying to make the game look more 'real' they are in fact making it more ugly. Blizzard is one of the few companies who understands this. Just look at most WoW screens, they just look great... alive...

Why do you think retro gaming is growing? Great gameplay

I really don't 'GET' why you think WoW screenshots look so good, it's beyond my understanding how you can like WoW shots but not like WAR, since WoW is based off WAR the design is very simi8lar just older than WAR.

You have a strange way of looking at graphics if you find WoW shots somehow better.  Very strange.

WAR is going to be looking at HUGE battles, massive assaults on keeps and capital cities.   Mythic knows better than to overdo it on graphics because of its experiences with DAoC.  The graphics have improved a lot over the last few months but they're never going to look like AoC's because Mythic isn't being run by idiots.

That's not to say that WAR's graphics are going to suck, you just have to look for more recent videos to see how things are progressing, for instance...

For me, that's more than sufficient, because the bottom line with games is that the gameplay is far more important than the graphics.  Pretty graphics draw a crowd but gameplay keeps them there.

Couldn't agree more. The primary reason I didn't buy AOC was the gameplay. There is nothing innovative there and the graphics although great, lag the gameplay and make it just seem so artificial. I think EA-Mythics net coders have atleast half a brain unlike Blizztards, who designed a net code from ground up that coulnd't even handle 50 peo
