AoC already has 700k after 1 month. Impressive! I did not expect to see a WoW killer that soon! Great work FC!

AoC claimed 550K purchases on release day, they now have 700K. That means over the last month they only sold 150K boxes. 3 Months from now at that rate they are looking at 1.15M copies sold.(not active accounts but accounts sold) That is also in a market that has grown by about an order of 10 since WoW came out. Nice try though.

Hah, this isn't the King, not by a long shot. We don't need a king of MMOs, we need a group of Titans so that everyone can play what suits them best. I don't think this nor any upcoming MMO that i know of will dethrone WoW but it is an easy target due to the fact that they roll out content so freakin slow. Actually i think if Vanguard continues to improve the way it has over the last 6 months it obviously won't dethrone WoW but it could start stealing some subs from it. Make a difference!

And most polls show at least 30% of the people quit after the free month. I'm sure there are less than 500k people playing now

I play the game and enjoy it, but I'm not going to say AOC is the top game I've ever played, nor that it is a WOW killer (doubt that will ever happen in our lifetime) How can you say FC knows their "shit". If you mean how to hype and spin a game, yes, I agree, they are proving to be masters of these subjects. But the game is clearly lacking in many areas right now, has many bugs and defects (just try and get into the Noble Arena now, or play a female character) and you can't salute FC in any of these things. AOC mostly works. That's the best you can say about it right now. But it certainly isn't a great game at this point, nor can we really predict its long term staying power. Truthfully, if WAR doesn't blow, it will stomp all over AOC at the end of the year unless FC gets their act together quickly. Nice try though. Actually the last number quoted by the director down there is 1 million and they expect them to sell in 4-6 weeks. So 1 million sold to shops and probably 1 million bought by customers in 4-6 weeks as stated. If you want to see the report its on one of the other gamesites..not sure I can post here but if you want to PM me then I am happy to give. For the record I am enjoying AoC but like any MMO if you join an active guild then its 50% of the entertainment. At war with 5 other major guilds so its pretty much warfare in the streets and isn't that what AoC is all about?

The trend on ALL websites sales for Conan is not a downward trend ... it is a crash. From position 1 to 90 on amazon.com in about 5 to 6 weeks time. When they could only sell 150K sales in the last 5 weeks, how could they sell 300 K in the next "4-6 weeks". Tell me that please. Oh it is a number quoted by the director of FunCoN. I see. The only real trends we have now in these latest weeks is the DOWNward selling trend of Conan. It is lagging far behind WAR and WOW now in the new boxes shifted department on amazon. So ... ? Not even guessing the very big attrition rates this game gets (just look at LOTRO and TR how BIG this attrition rate is for present day MMO's - 60 to 70% in 4 months time !). (And LOTRO was a dream to play as a polished product btw.) The game card of Conan is down from 220 to 302 now in just ONE week time. And position 302 is even on PC sales !!!
