another funny topic to try to convince people that AoC is a bad game... I mean unless you have tried it you won't know..

funny thing it seems like it's mostly those with 9800gtx cards that complains. Maybe try to find out what's wrong or a solution to solve the issue instead of jumping off the cliff??

I really don't understand how a stock that was worth 20KR 4 months ago and is now at +-40KR (even if it went through 55KR during the prelauch days trading madness) is considered "dropping from the sky"? Little secret: Funcom is not going bankrupt because you did not like the game. Actually facts show that Funcom is an exceptionally good company: to work in, invest on and observe. AoC is the second most popular MMO in the western world right now, even after the end of the first sub cycle. I guess this hurts your feelings, but it is the truth. I did not like the game either, but there are hundreds of thousands of people that are having a blast (and resubbing).

 

Fact 1: Funcom shipped 1 million boxes, not sold.

Fact 2: Age of Conan is not even on the top ten list of most played mmo´s. Here is the last list.

1. World of Warcraft - 9.8 million subscribers.
2. Habbo Hotel - 7.5 million active users.
3. RuneScape - 5 million active users.
4. Club Penguin - 4 million active users.
5. Webkinz,  - 3.8 million active users
6. Gaia Online - 2 million active users.
7. Guild Wars - 2 million active users.
8. Puzzle Pirates - 1.5 million active users.
9. Lineage II - 1 million subscribers.
10. Second Life - 500,000 active users.

And Final 11. Age of Conan - Estimated: Below 400,000

 

Oh my. I LOLed so hard at your list. Not only I said "western mmos", but you include free games and non-rpg games (that was my mistake though, i meant mmorpgs) and you also have made up so many numbers, you must have a headache now.

As the start of this week, taking an discernible plunge (20% loss in 6 days). I wonder... if maybe investors read gaming forums daily and now got scared. Its highly volatile stock, I wouldn't advise anyone to buy it - unless you like wagering thousands on the roulette wheel.

AoC launch is the worst i seen in any MMORPG so far. Worse then Vanguards. And youre blaiming the ones that cant play the game cause they have a black or blue screen cause of very poor compability to hardware? Is those the guys to blame? Or the ones feeling that AoC is a overhyped piece of unfinish game? Maybe its Funcom fault not paying up for any more subs? Theres so many who wont pay up more then 30 days for Age of Conan. Just see for yourself in a month or two.

Funcom have noone to blame but themself for overhyping AoC. And rushing it out before it was finished. Its very good that people dont accept that kind of greedish behaviour and put there feets down. Its very good for the MMORPG genre as a whole.

They have sold 700.000 units of Age of Conan and thats is a victory. Funcom have estimated a high sales rating for at least a million. But here is the most important and critical part "Subscriiption revenue estimation". Funcom claim that the first month there would be a relative small/low subscription revenues due that the first subcription payments started on June 19. Therefore they cant give any number on how many there will pay/play Age of Conan. If think its strange that Funcom cant even give a prediction on how many subs there curently are at the moment. Either its because its a adminstration problem or because they dont wanna tell us something.

That is great, over 700k sold.  Besides your clearly baby like whine there, you right that currently it does have quite a few bugs at higher levels and on crappy machines.   To fix the problem related to people's crappy boxes, it's great they are releasing it for the xbox.  Plus at that release the bugs and content at higher level will be complete.  I would not consider myself a beta tester since I'm still under the max level and enjoying the content that seems to be well put together.  For anyone who does have the time to 'grind and powerlevel' yourself to max, i'd say chill out and find another game.

Jesus you're right. Well that just opens up a whole nother can of worms now doesn't it? What kinda garbage is on his computer that even with that setup he can't do what my single 8800GTX can do.

 

Still...9800GTX or GX2...it was still an utter waste of money. If he wanted a gaming hard-on that badly he should have held out for the 4870x2, more performance for half the price.

Except when people say max settings, max means everything on high, and everything on full blast, shadows, AA, shaders etc etc. I only run with shaders 3, and 4x AA and gets 70-120 or so FPS. Last night I went in the villas solo and instantly dropped below 20 FPS. Go figure.

I could've held out for 2 4870, but I would have had to wait. You can always wait for faster, better, newer technology, but all you're doing is waiting.
