Downloading Free Trial - General Discussion - World War II Online

Hey, I'm downloading the free trial. I'm a history buff and really like FPS and MMOs. Hate to level so I'm looking forward to trying this one out. Is the game still active? Is it easy enough for somone to jump in now a days or will I be too far behind?

Definitely still active.

Don't want you to get the wrong idea. There's still an element of "leveling" in the game. Have to be a certain rank to use some of the more advanced items of equipment (Spitfire Mk IX, Tiger tank, Destroyer, etc). But the basic equipment will still be available to you. Even moreso right now, because we just started a new map this week, and everybody is at Tier 0 equipmentwise.

And no, starting now won't hurt you a bit. Shoot straight, keep your head down, and you can still kick ass with a basic rifleman.

Life is short, play.

Been playing for some weeks now, still didnt manage to get rank 3 (in order to use other weapons, instead of rifle), Im just rank 2 about 20%, and looking forward to level up.

Still making too many mistakes as running in open field, bad shooter (can hit a enemy running in front of me.... lol), but still loving it. Helping the others with info of position of the enemy and trying to sneak up to enemy territory in my main interest... hehehe.

Always join a squad to ease the newbie curve. If you are allied..holler on help channel or the objective channel and BKB will recruit you and show you the ropes and should help you rank up. Welcome aboard, I think you will enjoy yourself.

BTW..Day one newbie can kill an 7 year player. Rifles know no rank. No skill points, nothing but experience and some rank is gained over time.

i tried it a while ago and although WW2 has it charms.......the graphics, oh the graphics

Don't get me wrong I base my enjoyment on Gameplay>graphics but I simply can't get past the graphics of WW2. They make EQ1 look like the next gen graphics of todays games. WW2 could prolly be run of a good calculator. Ok, ok, sorry no more bashing WW2's horrific graphics. If you can get past the.................................then the gameplay is in the low to moderate area of challenge and fun, join a squad right away and follow the vets advice. Everyone is different and you may just really enjoy it.
