I think you need to have been a paying customer of vanguard to get the free month (like eq &eq2 deals)

If you already have a paying account or pay during the free time then you won't get the free month. And I'm pretty sure this promotion is for ex-subscribers. So if you've subscribed in the past (and not subscribed now) you should get the free month.

  Bad move then.  They missed a really great opportunity here by being overly selective with their trial.  You'd think SOE would have learned that vet trials do not often do well...most "vets" move on and stay gone.  A purely open trial would probably allow them to absorb some of the hemorrhaging that is happening from other games right now.

  So sad, such a wasted chance.

I see what you mean,

BUT

chances are, if people didn't like there free trial of AoC, they'd shop around a bit before they sub again, and hopefully trial island will be released before they sub for something else!

But yeah, would be nice to have got like a 10 day trial for those that see AoC and don't like. Personally I don't need to play AoC to be put off by it, and can see VG, despite the bugs, is an 'epic' game.

Tis good news.  But oddly enough, both of my accounts seem to have a vanguard sub, even though only 1 account is the one that bought the game.  Maybe everyone who has a sony account gets this?

Be nice if they did that, gives people the chance to see what vanguard is.  I'm personally reinstalling my copy now, and goign to give it a whirl.  I'm very turned off by AoC and am bored yet again.

How did you find out your other account got it? trying to log in? or did you get an email? Had you paid for anything on that account, or had it just done a free trial or something?

I logged into my other account cause I noticed that swg was on my main account, but it was bought on another.  (Long story with that one.)  Anyways, when i logged into that one, it said I had til 7/31/08, which is the same on the account that bought vanguard, as time active. 

The account that has SWG has been dead since 12/25/06.  Haven't logged in or used it for anything since then.  So I'm thinking anyone that had a station pass prior is recieving it.  I didn't get any emails though, just noticed it from this post here.  Hope that helps ya.

Yea I think shadowlord is right because I have two SOE accounts one that I had originally used for EQ and one for Vanguard. Both accounts have Vanguard until 7/31. Thanks for the heads up Shadow!
