I've been reading that the Magus is being retooled to be the Destruction counterpart of the Engineer. My chosen class in DAoC was the animist, and from what I've been reading the Engineer/Magus is supposed to operate in a similar fashion (except mechanical turrets/demons in summoning circles instead of mushrooms). Has there been any indication of the numbers of turrets you can have out at once? I've been looking through videos and haven't seen an engineer summon a single turret, so I have no idea.

On the cosmetic front, are all disks supposed to look the same, or do you get to choose between different models/upgrade them along with your appearance?

And a final question, I've seen video of a Magus flying quite high over the terrain (like over the treetops). Is this some kind of travel spell, or an old ability they are going to remove as they retool the class?

Behold! Rash of the Itch King comes in November! Quake in fear!

I saw a vid of an Engineer, he dropped one turret at a time but of course the max number could be more than one or it can change. I think the discs get more elaborate as you get more powerful, and I have no idea about the last thing but it sounds awesome.

For your engineer question i believe you are only allowed one, a good reference i heard was think of a engineer in tf2.

And if you never played tf2 well shame on you since Half-life 2 is one of the best FPS to this date and tf2 takes it for the multiplayer (orange box best deal)

For the disc i believe they look the same however there are different ones, a battle one and travel one ect.

For the 3rd one i think it was just a simple GM or someone turning clipping and gravity and all that fun stuff on to just fly around, i could be wrong but i would need to see what you are talking about.

Avison wisdom of the ages...

As of right now the Engineer can have one of each turret out. So the Magus will probably paralell this. The engineers top ability at the turrent enhancement line was something like an extra turret or something.

Your disk's color paralells your armor, so it matches. And the disk changes depending on your character tier. So a tier 4 players' disk would look much more ornate than a tier 1.

The Magus' mount is simply a transformation for the disk. It elongates somewhat and moves considerably faster.

The flying thing was just the GMs messing around.

Truth is only the mass acceptance of an opinion.

From what I've read about the disc it corrolates to the character levels that can get a mount.  At the basic mount level the disc will move at mount speed (not sure about appearance change).  At fast mount character level the disc will change appearance and move at fast mount speed.  Not sure about cost or savings on disc versus mount.  The mage will either save money by not having to purchase a mount or the upgrade to the disc will cost the same amount.  Probably the latter.
