Hey that's great that the players are taking it into their own hands and basically doing the marketing for the companies themselves, sad it has to come to that, but whatever helps them have more fun.

My problem is that some of you claim this is the best MMO on the market?  I can give you 10 reasons why it can't possibly be the best MMO on the market but it comes down to taste...

A very few number of people ENJOY this game.  They are willing to pay a premium subscription price to play it.  A very large number DO NOT enjoy this game nor are willing to pay a premium to play it.

Is SWG better than WoW?  Heck no, it isn't even close.  Clearly I don't like WoW either but it isn't even close.  WoW runs 100X better than this game does.  AoC is 100X better than this game despite all the shortcomings it offers.  About the only game I have played that is worse than this one is Tabula Rasa.  Even Vanguard is now a lot better than SWG.

Don't act like I can't comment on the "current" status of this game because I just played the last Vet Trial.  Nice Viral Marketing attempt from someone who used this as their first post...

Good luck, I still advise ANYONE who might play this game to use the Free Trial.

Sandbox please.

Buying the game is actually a real bargain now, you can get the entire game (+all expansions +one free month) for only $20. The game is also very enjoyable regardless of what many disgruntled vets will say.

STOP WHINING!

Now for those who do not want any part of this that is fine. I wish you the best. But please, do not attack the op just because he is excited and hopeful about something.

Appreciate that man.  I'm going to see you in game very soon, hopefull you'll be on after i post this.  My IGN is Hosal Amaris.

The Kett experiament is going amazingly well.  I've added many people to the guild lately and all have been transfers.  Thanks to everyone supporting this idea too!

Disgruntled vets and anyone else besides you few thousand on the planet who have tried to enjoy this game...

The game has as many bugs now as it did at launch.

Sandbox please.

To hosal:

I am still grinding away at work, it only 3:30 PM here.... I started space last night--- it was fun to be in the starter ship again, feeling all kinds of impressive for taking out a tier 3 ship only to get utterly by a tier 4 droid ship.

As far as thunderous, I agree with you on a lot of points. I think pre-cu was superior. I would love for it to return.

How many people love the game versus tolerate it now? Eh I do not know. What I do know is that the experience on Kett has been the most rewarding in quite a while. Since we are all starting from level 5 (1) for me, it does remind of the excitement I first had when the game was new...

Now the combat is not as good and my god I miss the 32 professions, but I am enjoying the rebirth in the community on this server atm. Everyone in SoK (terrible name btw :)) has been very cool and I am glad to squeeze some more enjoyment out of the game.

Also, what is up with this thread, it appears to be losing posts faster than it gains em ...

Also, although I am enjoying the Kett experience, I too encourage any vet to try the free vet trial rather than re-subscribing, why waste money if you still do not like the game at all :)

OK, I really want to understand this from your point of view. You are stating that SWG has to die ( I assume you mean be shut down, servers are turned off) before another Star Wars MMO can be created/released?

Then by this line of reasoning Bioware CANNOT be making a Star Wars MMO. And if you do state that Bioware IS making a Star Wars MMO then what possible difference does SWG make to you then?

SWG has to die as a lesson to every other mmorpg developer that you can't screw over your customers and get away with it. In every other industry bait and switch is illegal so why should SOE get a free pas?

QFE. Independently of today's SWG quality (NGE "2.0" is cool imho), this alone is more than enough to justify the ending of SWG.

Who says we have to try and enjoy the game?

Maybe some players just..... "enjoy" it.

Who's to say that SWGs days aren't already numbered and the execution date has already been internally agreed upon? I do happen to agree with the others that speculate there cannot be two SW MMOs running at the same time, that does not at all mean a new one cannot be in development (as Nancy 'reading is teh hard' has already stated, and new SW MMO IS in planned). SWG took 4 years of developement before releasing, it would be stupid to think that SWG has to be offline before developement begins on it's successor.

Since it's all but proven that there is another SW MMO in developement (and production never starts without at least a tentative release date), it's pretty safe to assume that somewhere there is a clock ticking, counting down the days till SWG's appointment with the firing squad.
