I don't normally care enough to post here and, in fact, the sad state of the AoC forum here has completely turned me away but hopefully if some sane people are testing the waters and have stumbled upon this slop bucket of nastiness looking for guidance I can dissuade them from being turned away from Age of Conan. I run barely above the minimum requirements for AoC and experience no problems. The game is fun but certainly not intended for players that want to max loot or for those who derive self esteem from success in a video game. The combat system is elegant and is only "button mashing" for those who are not inclined to learn the subtleties. The community can be annoying but so can people. I am perplexed by the negativity and I am only thankful that it did not stop me from buying the game. To those who continue to post their vitriol, it is well within your rights to do so but perhaps your energies would be better spent promoting something you like rather than attacking something you don't. And I'd like to thank everyone who made sure that all the information about AoC was on these forums. Thanks to you more people aren't buying the game thinking things like crafting are in game. you've saved me and quite a few of my friends. keep up the good work and don't let this person make you think only positive opinions are good. |

Sigh, And this is why I wish casual gamers realized that the opinions expressed here in no way or form represent general opinion or the player base. I'm happy that people here are interested in the industry and the technology but so much of their personality needn't be vested in these games.

They think that Warhammer will magically be perfect and save the MMO world, and of course Warcraft will introduce new astounding features to satisfy them. |

What are you new to the internet? To game forums? Probably don't even see the irony of being a pro-AoC extremist Vs. a Con-AoE extremist. Every MMO that comes out has negative comments and positive. You'll insult the Cons with "Troll", they will call you a fanboi. See how that works? If you want to advertise the game as good, take it down a notch. Lastly, coming into a forum to insult the people who use the forum ain't gonna win you any support. |

Thanks, you just told us AoC is not an MMO. Or an RPG. I guess it's just a MOG. Which is all well and good, but people should wait for buddy keys or a trial first. And chew on this: Maybe there's a reason why there's so much negativity? You can only go so much with making up stuff to slander the game's image. Are you saying that every "negative" (I have no doubt that if you read a review and saw one negative thing you'd pounce on it) thing is just full of hot air? I've decided not to try AoC, not for a long time, longer than a few months. And it's because of how Funcom runs their game and how the game is sub-par (even if they're fixing up the boo boos with Band-aids every week). |

I myself am shocked at all the hatred of a product that has been out on the market a little over a month...from everything I understand MOST mmo's when launched have some issues that go with the territory. It is also well known that it takes more than a month to polish it and try to fix it . I think most people agree that an mmo is really "a true representation of what was suppose to be available at release" a good 4 to 8 months from the day of its release...perhaps longer. Yes the game has issues, no it's not perfect and perhaps the dev team has applied time to things we think are inconsequential. Does that mean that they aren't still working on the things that need to be fixed...I doubt it. It's a good game, still needs work, but will get it, and in 3 to 7 months we should have a much better idea of where this game is headed. I will continue to keep playing and see if funcom works this out as I am sure they will. I didn't rush to the end of the game so I'm not worried about the endgame yet. There are no bugs making the game unbearable and in fact it's quite enjoyable at lvl 40. Best of luck to all who try it, kudos to those holding back to see what people say (but take the mmo community with a grain of salt...luv em but they can be a bit whiney and negative...not all the time and there are some incredible people playing mmo's so I am not speaking about everyone one...), and hope you find what you are looking for to those who have moved on already.
