I'm really looking forward to playing this game. What i'm worried about is the lvl 40 cap in the game. Is the lvl cap still lvl 40 or did it change? I feel that alot of people are going to reach the cap in a matter of 2 weeks if not sooner and then what do they do? I tell you what they are going to do and that is running around killing the weaker toons just for fun. Does anyone find this a problem about the lvl cap at 40? thanks, |

FIrst of all there is system in place preventing lowbies from being ganked by higher lvl players, something whereby the higher player becomes literally a chicken when entering a lowbie zone. Second of all, just because the lvl cap is 40 doesnt mean it will take less time than any other MMO, they can easily just stretch it out. O_o o_O |

Are you perhaps thinking about WOW and how long that takes to level or even AOC which is just a joke? This game is RVR and to be strong in that you need to know your toon, not just level as quick as possible. From you comment about ganking low levels i can see you are new to WAR. Go study the chicken, that`s the only hint i am going to give you.

Even thought the cap is 40, it should take roughly the same amount of time to get to 60 in WoW. Also Bigdavo is right about the chicken system, but that will only be for RvR areas. Depending on which server type you choose, you will be able to gank lowbies outside of the RvR ares (regular zones). At least that's how I understand it, I could be wrong. I would also like to add that I prefer the lower level cap, and hope they don't raise it in the first few expansions. It would be best for them to focus on new RvR content imo. |

Get rid of levels and have everyone with the same health throughout the game but just put craftable items in there to increase your as crafters gain experience in that. Then use the talent tree thing to unlock more skills as you go along making you more viable in PVP but also a noob right from the start will be able to kill you if you're not on the ball and the only advantage you have over them is more skills. Would be my fave system tbh for class based mmorpgs and the ability to switch classes so you don't have to keep making alts. |

There are also something like 80 ranks of renown levels, rvr sets starting around lv 5-6 I believe and the tome of knowlege which will take ages to put a dent in filling I'm betting. In fact the tome problably is something that is nevewr 100% filled and keeps involving. Daoc had and still has 50 levles for a character to achieve. then after that there are realm ranks and crafting ranks. I wouldn't worry about a number (40) as it can change post release with expansions and updates. I beleive the mention additioanl contents and the first expansion was mentioned in the Baltimore Games Day information release on many of the war sites. If you want or need a specific reference just check the community section under fansites and one or more of them has most of the info I mentioned. There is nothing worse than leveling a character and it feels like a total grind with no fun at all. While I don't want the experience to seem too easy I want it to be somewhat challenging and fun for a casual but dedicated player. The two week leveling to 40 you suggest might be accomplished by those people out there that thrive on being able to say I leveld to 40 first! for bragging rights. There will always be those kinds of players and the level progression shouldn't rfelect or be built around those players. When the BC expac for Wow was released on my server (blackhand) at the time a mage used his guild to power lv him to 70 and I think it was done in 26 hours or something silly. Play DAOC or use any trials they might have to get a feel for how and what I expect the leveling experience will be similar to War. Just my 2 cents. |

( side note: lowbie gankers are going to have it rough in this game . they will actually have to fight people slightly ABOVE their own level at times )
to the OP . there are still plenty of things to do once you max level. realm rank is capped at 80 i believe , tome unlocks , dungeons , PQ's , sieges on keeps , objectives and city's . there will be plenty of things to do once you reach level 40 . this isn't AOC . you wont hit a brick wall of boredom once you get to level XXX . |

i hope this isn't breaking NDA ... i think this was already announced by Mythic . if you are in a lower tier zone ( a level 21 in a level 15 zone ) when you enter the PvP area you have 10 seconds to get out ... if you don't make it you are turned into a chicken ! i was in tears laughing first time it happened to me :P
on a side note: the system works great . if a low level go's to a high level zone they are fair game . if they stay in zones for their level they are safe . simple , easy and works . i give Mythic big props on this one . :) |

Something i am not even remotely worried about at all. I am intrigued and hopefull that the PvP system is going to be one (if not) the best around. WoW's is somewhat crap, as for WoW's lvling process to 70, well 2 weeks for 1-62 and just under another 2 weeks for 62-70. Quicker if you have help from friends, and thats not even playing hard either. They really dumbed down the process and now you have loads of 70's not knowing what the hell they are doing when hitting top lvl. Anyways that going off subject. Level cap limits are nothing much really, it depends on how well the game has been made. Games are not based on the higher the level cap the better it is (lol just look at some of the failures out there). Plus, this would also allow scope for expansions/patch update's, when they are released (i just hope the lvl cap limit is not raised everytime one is). Only poor excuse i have heard about this game is the cartoony WoW graphics, but after viewing several screenshots posted on various sites, i just cannot see how they are the same as warcrafts? They are sharper, more detailed and look damn better. I have a couple of issue's of character animations are somewhat poor (but this has not been confirmed by too many) so i am not including this as a poor mark (yet). |

again i could be losing my mind but i think mythic said they will not ever be raising the level cap. Mr crazy guy said it in one of the vids i believe. even if they do they i dont think it will happen for a very long time an deff not with every "expantion". i hope they dont anyways. always pissed me off when games would bump the cap up an make you grind for another 10 levels insted of putting in more content. id be very disapointed if they upped the cap. making you grind out 10 more levels then have to regear everything your toon has. i dont wanna play EQ/WoW again lol. |

WOW!!! This game sounds very good so far. Do you think that the game will have a better turn out than AOC?

Levels dont make a game. They could make the game have no levels, or put it at 10 or 20 and I wouldnt care as long as the rest of the game was fun. The only thing I like about levels is the feeling of accomplishment when you get to the endcap. Otherwise I hate that snail-crawl when you get up to the higher levels. Taking a week just to get through level 59 or something. Bleh. |

Sadly some people need levels. Because EVE has no cap, people are running around saying the sky is falling, don't join EVE, "you'll never catch up"!!
Level caps mean people who join later can eventually catch up to you. not that you can't catch up to people in EVE, some people just don't understand how it works. Levels are simpler. Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats. |

True true... they could keep the pvp levels and just name them ranks, and give them rank titles like captain, knight, scout and the like. Pve levels could go though, just do spells and such like in Guild Wars where you quested for the skills and spells. |

Theres alot of things that can be done without raising the adventure level cap. Renowon ranks can go up, guild levels can go up, and since its a RvR game why not increase city levels too in time. If you re worried you re going to hit 40 fast and have nothing to do , i can tell you as a beta tester not to worry :) There is alot to do. |
