Not a retired MMORPG.com mod |
/sigh currently the Morgan interview is on the front page So they say they are removing the boring parts of a MMO like significant death penalties( great another sissy zerg game where there is no accountability for playing poorly), and they are bringing new desirable things to the forefront, guilds and raiding, to draw players away from WoW. New? Focusing on guilds means focusing on raiding, and everyone is producing a quest driven MMOG these days. Raiding and quests are hardly innovative, that's what WoW is also about ultimately. It's the same boring crap. |

Behold! Rash of the Itch King comes in November! Quake in fear! |
It's Warhammer, it's a huge war...you're not some hero that's going to save your race. You're a soldier. You will die. ALOT. Putting in harsh death penalties is simply a hindrance. They want to focus on the fighting. Also the high level end-game "raiding", for PvE at least, will be no bigger than one group. That's 6 people. And guilds aren't always connected with raiding. This is a PvP game mainly, remember? |

Why So Serious? |
There is no admision..they've been saying it all along they want this to be a fast furious addictive GAME. When they say its not a world theyr'e saying don't expect SWG, UO, or EvE where the players are responsible for Everything. Its WAR not Second Life essentially (Second life is a 'world' not a game). btw OP your completely off base on the Guild / Raiding focus...if you've actually been paying attention this is NOT what WAR is about at all..yes there are guilds..but its about Realm..and guilds have to actually work with their Realm for their realm to succeed. Raids? PvE Raids psh do not exist in the WoW sense...there is no Raid Progression...Dungeons yes..but they're 6 man. There is the King Encounter but its not a raid..just a large encounter and all you have to do is SHOW up and get in a group to go you dont have to spend your life to earn a key to get access. About the only thing WAR / WoW have in common is being casual friendly, easy to jump into, and some basic soloable quests..thats Kinda it. Not even their class systems are the same unless you just look at it from a verybasic level. WAR's going to be pretty awsome for those that have been paying attention...god its killing me not to yap Leucent is it killing you yet? lol |

the only non 6 man PvE fights are the kings. Those 24. There is a signifcant penatly, if you die alot you loose control of whatever you were defending/attacking,. and if you keep sucking you will eventually loose your capital, and risk loosing your king (kings are beaten and captured, taken back to other capital to have tomatoes thrown at him, you have to take him back) No there is no big penalty to loosing 1 skirmish fight in middle of no where. you lost, boohoo. There are no long week long raids like in WoW. Guilds are focus for RvR combat, not PvE. Guilds can loose there banner, and have to take it back to use it again. There are penalties, jsut not stat debuffs or item loss etc. |

I m having too much fun and no way in hell i ll lose it :) That said, yes they ve always said it s a game to log in have fun and not worry about the annoying things. They understand that people have less time nowadays and are catering to that as well as hardcore. Trust me when i say this, you can be hardcore and still enjoy this game. |

You must have missed the part where they said that is to put the FUN back in GAMES. People complain all the time about the alternate "Worlds" they log in to eeming like a second job. So Mythic foxused on mkin it a "Game" and putting "Fun" back in it, and still people complain. Get over it, and maybe less judgemental until they PROVE it is crap, or not. Not everyone will like it, we are all entitled to our opinions. I may even hate it. Not gonna sit around a forum and cry about everything I hear in an interview until I have first hand basis to judge on however. Personally, I play games to have FUN, so that is wht I got out of that interview. Though as soon as he said it, I could already hear people crying and flaming his words needlessly.

Gamers who use RMT are like athletes who use steroids. |
Everytime I see Paul Barnett speak, I want to punch him in the face, he is so obnoxious. Calling Paul Barnett a creative director is like saying spaghetti is a delicacy. Paul Barnett doesn't have a creative bone in his body. Warhammer is WoW with a little window dressing. |

| With PvE raiding it has never been a question of being "good enough". I play games to have fun, not to be a simpering toady sitting through hour after hour of mind numbing boredom and fauning over a guild master in the hopes that he will condescend to reward me with shiny bits of loot. But in games where those people get the highest progression anyone who doesn't do that will just be a moving target for them and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money for the privelege. - Neanderthal |
