Fanbois are dangerous for their own game.

Trolls are amusing/boring, nobody really give a damn what they say 99% of the time.  When devs listen to their trolls (1% of the time), treat them as fanbois instead, they are just as bad, in these occasions.

Devs need a spine and to ignore fanbois (and trolls) and just analyze/figure out what is best on their own, fanbois and trolls should be read only as part of a brainstorm activity, never as part of a serious opinion/direction for their game.  Cause trolls and fanbois have 1 good thing, they usually have tons of ideas...so for a brainstorming, if the devs have the spines, they are actually good.  Saddly, when devs lack spines and are desesperate to please their investors, reading these guys is actually extremely dangerous...especially that they have no vision, no long-term goal, only a mine of brainstorm ideas.

Trolls can be funny, and at worst annoying.

Fanboys are delusional morons who wouldn't know an objective fact or a reasonable argument if it brought them a hot pocket and changed their bedpans.

If there were only fanboys, then MMORPGs would get more praise and do better....which would be better for the genre. The more MMOs the better...except the asian grinders, less of those the better...but in general, its usually better to have a larger selection of games (MMOs in this case) to choose from.

I'm going to have to say Fanbois are the worst.  Because they keep MMO Devs afloat and re-releasing the same crap.

  Easy choice for me.  Fanboyism is worse.

  I detest them for the same reason I detest any form of zeal...its blind, stupid, a destructive not only to the cause its trying to serve, but to the zealot itself.

  Trolls, on the other hand, aren't destructive at all.  They may get on your nerves...but the vast majority of them are obvious ones, and its easy to simply push it to the side when you are done playing with it.  They do not actually tend to negatively impact anything (especially due to the nature of BEING a good troll...you have to really dig up the emotion of the other readers and the effort to do so is often enough to make any unbiased party, also known as a developer, realize they should ignore you).

  One last thing to note....

  A troll will attack everything and everyone equally.  A fanboy will only defend his "chosen".  I feel that trolls are at LEAST fair about it.  Hell, a troll will even switch sides to attack something he actually LIKES.  I've never seen a super-fan be that objective or even that open minded.  Granted, the fanboy has his reasons in a far better place...the troll only wants to stir crap up.  But the fan takes it to unhealthy levels...what the active troll does is little more than simply being immature and taking pleasure in drama.  I'll gladly take immature over "borderline emotional attachment issues" any day.

Many trolls are just people who point out flaws in a game only to have the fanbois deny that there is anything wrong and label them a troll.

Fanbois, it's ok for things to be wrong with your game, the sooner you admit it and complain, the sooner the developers of your game will get on to fixing it. They sooner that happens, the less complaining there will be and, you guessed it, the number of troll posts will decrease! Amazing how that works, isn't it?

Fanbois are the worst because they encourage developers to keep that 'it's ok, we can just patch it later' attitude and keep rolling out crappy and unfinished games.

Most of the time the trolls have at least some sort of fact or reasonable complaint and a fanboi will just dismiss it believing blindly that his / her game is perfect and will have nothing bad said about it.

most 'trolls' on this forum are people who get labeled by fanboys. Fanboys are the worst though, they are downright deceiving and will convince people to buy games by making them out to be something they are not.
