hello i got a problem with requiem

well i downloaded the game registered and installed the game now if i want to luacnh the game it says updater and 5 seconds later it says failed internet connection

but there is no problem with my internet

could someone help me with this problem i would really appreciate if u got some tips or tricks or

something to solve this

Not sure if it relates to your problem, but the game is down right now for the official launch. Monday June 16 at 7pm pacific there is a prelaunch for people who bought the pay to play packages ahead of time. Then it opens for everyone on the 19th.

You can also check the zip file to make sure you didn’t download the old beta client. Yours should be RequiemClient_2008613.zip

but becomes requiem pay to play??

You don't have to p2p. That's just an option that affects death penalty, how quickly you gain xp, and allows you to use regional chat.

Back to your orginal issue, there seems to be a lot of people posting on the requiem forums about the same problem. Can't find a thread that has the answers though. If I had to guess I'd say the servers used to update the launcher aren't up right now.

EDIT: I just finished installing this game. I can get past the launcher, past the logos when the game starts to where it asks for name and password. I only get a server error when I put in my name and password and try to start the game. Whatever is going on apparently is only affecting some people.

the game opens to the public the 19th, go check the games forum's faq...you get to play 3 days early if you signed up early for p2p

That's true Crunchy, but it does not explain why I can get all the way to game log in screen and Nick can't even get the launcher/patcher to open.

A lot of people are having the same problem as Nick. If it is a server issue it would make sense that it would affect everyong the same way, it does not.

I get why I can't log in, I just don't get why some people can get farther into the software than others. And its not premium vs free either, the error happens to people well before you put in your account info.

 

EDIT: Here are two posts I found on the requiem forums. Only the first one is from a Moderator so don't try what's in the second post unless you are feeling brave.

"Please understand that an Error 06 message means that there is a connection issue between your system and our servers. There are several things that need to be checked for this type of error.

First, do you have the correct ports open in the firewall and router? The ports needed are 21, 80, 7110, and 7230. Remember to check both the firewall and router because they are two separate settings. To check if it might be the router configuration, try connecting directly to the Internet without going through your router. If you plug the cable in to your computer and can connect to the patch server without the error message, then you need to reconfigure the router port settings. This varies from router to router, so check your router's manual or your ISP on how to do so. If you are part of a network, such as a business or a school, you will need to contact your network administrator to check these settings.

Second, are you running the client with full permissions? In Vista, this means running the client in Administrator mode. If you do not have full Admin privileges, then your OS may simply be blocking the connection based on User privileges.

Finally, check your anti-virus software. Many anti-virus programs restrict Internet connections from a program unless that program has been added to a safe list. Check your anti-virus program to make certain that it allows Requiem, both the patch client and the game client, to connect to the Internet as necessary.

If all of these settings check out and you are still receiving the error, then it is probable that the patch server is full at the time you are trying to connect. There are several hundred people all trying to connect and patch at the same time and the server can only handle so many at a time. Please be patient and try again at a later time. Be assured that the server is up and running (only for patching), just kinda clogged right now with everyone trying to rush it all at the same time."

"i downloaded the open beta client and had the same error #6 right after install. i read the suggestions about setting your router to DMZ or bypassing it altogether and how the update servers were down, but this worked for me.

 

If you are having troubles with the Requiem Launcher updating completely or successfully, you will need to try the following:

Remove the following files from your \Gravity\Requiem Installation Directory:
PatchDownload.exe
Launcher2.exe
patchw32.dll

Then enter the \Gravity\Requiem\Patches Directory and remove all files within this directory (If any). Now back out to \Gravity\Requiem once again and run UPDATERUSA.exe. Once the program begins it should re-download all the previously deleted files and allow for you to update successfully.

ok i got now all set up and ready got account can load up to id and pass screen but when i fill it in it says cannot conncet to the server?!

 

 

any1 got the same problem or knowsa clue to this??

Server may have been down when you tried to connect.

Check your firewall settings to make sure that Requiem has proper access. Obviously you've given the updater access. 

Run a trace (tracert) to make sure that the pathway between your ISP and the game host isn't having issues.

Hey guys I am new to this site and to the MMORPG. I downloaded it so many times. I tried to play it

I heard about the servers being down and its official launch on the 19th well I tried after that time and it still doesn't work. The client downloads and then it starts to automatically patch when the screen comes up [normal] then after like around 50% it says:

error 02 : Patch Error

then I click OK and it says

Failed Patch Binding

then when I click OK it is ready to start. Then I click Start and the whole thing launches I enter my screen name and password. When I click enter it says:

Alert

Client Version Does Not Match

Please try to log in later.

This I believe is all occurring because the patch is not being able to update and I don't know why. Can anyone help. I really need help. Is there any place I can manually patch it? I am waiting for reply, I can't wait to play!!

I also wanted to say that I found a link to download the patch however it isn't binding with the client. For some reason. Do I need some type of file for it, maybe something happened there. or is there some type of software I need? like direct x or I read in some other forum about furget or something like that. Please help!
