SOE has published the update notes for their latest update, Chapter 10: The Search for the Meatlump King for Star Wars Galaxies.

Chapter 10: The Search for the Meatlump King
Publish Notes, June 19, 2008

Highlights:

A new theme park with quests beginning at level 55, an improved community search system, group pickup points, and changes to Mustafar instances.

Meatlump Theme Park:

• All players of level 55 or above can take part in the new Meatlump theme park.
• Higher level characters have the opportunity to participate in the entire theme park and will even find quests tailored specifically for their level.
• Your adventure begins with the discovery of a viewscreen belonging to a Corellia Times reporter named Vani Korr.
• Players who have worked with Vani Korr to investigate the viewscreen prior to Chapter 10 can speak to her to continue their quest.
• All-new collections unique to the Meatlump theme park have been added.
• Once you gain access to the Meatlump base, you are able to complete different quests and collections that offer experience bonuses and currency for bartering with the Meatlumps, known as the Meatlump "Lump."
• These Lumps are the only currency accepted by the Meatlumps and are the only way you can purchase items from vendors selling Meatlump rewards.

If the Word  MeatLump is in the game then any fool who plays the NGE is an infant!

This patch name has to be the most unfortunate choice of titles I've ever seen.  I understand there is a faction of NPC's in game called "Meatlumps"...but to name a patch the way they did speaks volumes about the people marketing and developing this nightmare.

For those that still think that SOE is taking their job serious and try to make something good out of a wreck... the CH10 notes should make it clear that they are not even trying anymore. There is no need for a group tool when there is barely anyone to group with. Tarq can officially be decleared DEAD along with quite a few other servers. This chapter won't change a thing.

The meatumps are a group of NPCs on Corellia who apparently are technophobic.

One of the longstanding jokes that vets pulled on n00bs seeking to become Jedi was telling them they had to defeat the meatlump king, who was the boss of some dungeon on Corellia.

That of course did not exist.

The developers have been having fun with the idea of a "meatlump king" for a long time now.

I was referring to the developers as "meatlumps" from very early in release onwards.

Unfortunately, it isn't a real theme park. :(

It's just a name they use for when they add 20-30 quest chains all built around a common 'theme' in a small 'park' of NPCs.

Wookie rides sound creepy, mount the hairy manbeast.

It's been a long while since you've been to a populated server in SWG, huh? You have no idea what you're talking about.

Now 'meatlump" is shameful. And "Themepark" too.

I wish there was a Star Wars MMO.
