" Heroic Runnyeye Zone Introduced Players will be able to recapture the magic with a brand new experience in Heroic Runnyeye as it is introduced to the game with unique loot and exciting adventures. A worthy demonstration of the dedication and advancement of the EQII world."
A worthy demonstration of the dedication and advancement of the EQII world, would be to not rehash old instances.
And here's the kicker... when you say stuff like this on the official forum, you get a response from SOE about how "someone else" will think this is amazing and how they'll consider it worth an update all itself. At least I have in my experience, which is sad. I really like this game :( |

Well, it depends, RE is one of the best old EQ2 dungeons, most old players would like to experience a new and harder version. They did something similar with Nek Castle and the result was very fun... Anyway, I remember the days of Runnyeye, it will be a good experience run a harder and new version of this dungeon... Usually they introduce new dungeons between expansions too ( Unrest, Shard of Fear etc ), so I really think your comment is unfair with EQ2. ... |

So with all do respect, I'll say let's agree to disagree on the matter. As a returning player, who's started over on Antonia Bayle recently; I found a lot of stuff original, vanilla EQII Norrath to be very bland compared to the newer stuff added in EoF and beyond. And perhaps that's really just my opinion. But as an opinion there's no way to say that fair/foulness is involved in it. |

ZDPhoenix Well, it depends, quest content is inferior, but some dungeons stil are very good, some 30-40 level dungeon in the original EQ2 are better than the 30s dungeon content in EoF, but the 60-70 dungeons in EoF are really fantastic. Kunark is not exacly old already and they will probably come with one more expansion at the end of the year. Yes, I agree we can have different opinions, see, I love DoF and EoF and dont like KoS and Kunark, but some people love KoS, but I think even with an oposite opinion you were abit unfair with EQ2 content. I know some poeple will disagree, but EQ2 is an unpopular game, and even if you compare it to popular titles ( with much more money ) the amount of updates in EQ2 is very good but far from perfect. Lets wait and see how this new Runnyeye will be, you already experienced the two versions of Nek Castle? The amount of challenge in the second version at the 60-70 level were very impressive and I confess I had a lot of fun there. ... |

JustBe Well, it looks older than WoW only in your eyes, anyway, they are so different in apearance that is a silly thing to compare, anyway, one thing I can say for sure as is more of a technical aspect , EQ2 animations still far better than WoW, Lotro, Vanguard and L2 animations even after all those years... Anyway, this is not the point and a better graphic or animation means nothing when it is clear you just have hard feeling agains SoE and you are using this argumment only to express it.

Well I can tell you the EQ2 graphics are nothing to write home about. Not to say they aren't ok, but SOE has not done little since the release and the engine still chugs along, it certainly is not that well written compared to other MMO's. Problem with EQ2 is that the old zones need some work, you are not going to get new blood into this game until they put some effort on fixing the original areas. |

Yeah, I wonder myself, heh. True EQ2 isnt as LOTRO or AoC, but it still looks good to me. Besides, it has qualities of complexity few new MMOs have. Somehow I always end up there.

Gotta agree with the graphics needing improved comments. I was going to start playing EQII, but yeah, by todays standards those graphics are looking really dated. Granted graphics is just part of a game, but its a big part. They should really update the graphics, until then, I'll be playing other games.
