I do not think that there will be flyable ships at launch, I might be wrong and hope that I am. I do think that after the game has been out for a bit there will be an expansion that would include it, but here again I might be wrong again.

If i remember from reading the forums way back when and listening to early pod-casts. The SGW dev team stated that in the first release of the game, there will be no space/flight content. That means so spaceships, no attack ships. You may shoot them down in missions or see them around. But you will not be flying them. They did mention however that you may have experiences aboard motherships and the lot, but there would be no ship control involved. as well, they mentioned that down the road as content extras or an expansion. Space might be added. So cross your fingers! Well, considering they don't usually take vehicles through the gate on the show, I doubt there will be a lot of vehicles in the game. I could be wrong, but its better to not expect something and be happy when it is there as opposed to expecting it and being mad its not.
