Retention Rate? The aggregate will be Greater than 100%. It will be like every other well-made, fun game, it will have a rolling increase in population. Some will leave some will stay, but the numbers joining will cause the population to rise over the next year or more. |

I wasnt upset I bought it, but it definitely isnt the great mmo is was proping itself up to be. By the time I had reached 20, got to Khemi, and wandered around a bit, I had been playing EQ2 more... coupled with some other reasons, I cancelled. |

I'd assume roughly 35% due to personal tastes and computer limitations. Some rigs won't be able to handle this game at all, and some that can will have to dumb down the graphics a great deal, which will turn off a lot of players.
It's a great game if the lore is interesting to you and you have a decent computer.
I do think however out of those that leave, more will come, making the "retention rate" in terms of numbers around 50-75% or so - depending on how things go with future patching. |

In all honesty, I don't like the game. But, there are lots of people who do! I think the retention rate will be around 50%. It seems like people either love it or hate it, so it's my best guess. AoC and WAR are both highly competitive, high-quality games. They will have an impact on each other. It's just a matter of proportion, and considering when WAR is releasing, it's AoC that will be taking the bulk of that impact. All of this is in my Humble Opinion, of course. |

The game will probably peak at around 250k but we'll have to see. I'm going to say around the 35% to 50% percentile. The 6/09 patch really changed the dynamic for some and if the posts on the official boards are a taste of indication others will be leaving too. I don't post on the officials and if I'm leaving other non-official board posters are probably leaving too. I'll be one of those returning if the games returns to operational status with me and the family member's comp. (Although I said I'm leaving I'm only using the "I'm leaving" as an example to counter" the players who are happy are just playing and not visiting forums" posts) Edit: Additional content |

I love this game for it's PvP and gameplay, so it'll keep me for at least another 2-3 months: The thing is that I will have very little time for gaming (as I do now), so the game is perfectly set up for casuals like myself that don't run out of content as hardcore gamers do. My highest level is a 34 HoX (I also have a 30 sin and some really low levels) and it took me most of my playing time to get them there; given that I'll have half the playing time I did when I leveled them it might even take me longer to attain max level and that's ignoring the eventual pvp grind.

Originally posted by Kyleran I think that is a good guess. The next two weeks the population will see big hits, then WAR release will knock off another huge chunk. All but the kiddies who are enamored by the easy play and pretty graphics are already jumping ship back to their previous games. |

By Nov 08 AoC will be lucky to have 130k subs .Not this is a bad thing but it really is a niche game and will eventually settle into 80 - 100k subs by this time next year.. |
