I have been looking for a fantasy MMORPG game for about a month.

Games Ive played;  WOW, Lotro  (Both ok but not longer than 6 months)

Games Ive tried (EQ - didnt like look, DDO - If it were not all instance and could solo some I would like, Titan Quest - JUst didnt suck me in.)

What I want

Fantasy Based

Lots of classes and skills to choose from (Lotro bugged me becasue no mage)

Lots of levels (GW doesnt cut it for me)

Pentalites for Dying (not many games have enough of this)

Solo or Group (i like both probably solo more)

PVP (fun when im in the mood)

Decent Graphics (not AOC or Vangaurd only have a decent grapgics card, liked wow and ddo, lotro lagged a little)

Story and gaming skill are important.  Thinking is a plus

Does anything come close?

It sounds like you would really enjoy Dark Age of Camelot.  It's older but the graphics have been updated in a couple of the expansions.

The one downfall of DAoC is that because it's older, not as many people play it anymore.  There's still a fair amount of people on but it's nothing like WoW or LotRO because they're newer/more popular games.

Once I get my new rig (Wednesday) I plan on starting up DAoC again and then once WAR comes out I'll be all over it (they're made by the same company - EA Mythic - and both feature RvR combat in place of PvP - RvR is a more organized form of PvP where it's basically one "Realm" against another, DAoC has 3 realms and WAR has 2 (kinda like WoW but much more organized)

Starting out on DAoC right now is tough because a large amount are playing just end game (maybe 70%) so the chance of finding a group at the lower levels is a lot less, I'd still highly recommend.

It may not be fantasy, but have you tried Eve?

Fantasy Based - It's a Sci-Fi game, but maybe you can look past it

Lots of classes and skills to choose from - okay there aren't a lot but you can pretty much design what you want to be from fighter, to business person to miner. There are lots of skills though. I heard something like 23 years it would take to learn them all?

Lots of levels - No levels per say, but to get all the skills researched does take some time and it even happens when you sleep.

Pentalites for Dying - You lose everything, unless you backed yourself up.

Solo or Group

PVP - Some good PvP battles and now with expansion even more options.

Decent Graphics

Story and gaming skill are important.  Thinking is a plus - You can get really immersed in the world and yea skill and thinking does help you live longer!

You can solo (to an extent)

I leveled my Vampiir from 1-50 in no time solo, but at the same time if you play a support role, it's gonna be be tough to say the least.  As for your whole mages issue, there are a lot of casting classes in DAoC, there's like 8 pure mages and a few more hybrids, so I doubt that will be a concern.
