So stop complaining it is a 30gp game your lucky enough they compacted it that much so stop complaining!!!

thats not a patch he is downloading a compacted version of the game

if i click cancel, does it stop dling and delete it all, or will it start back from where it was?

first off, this is the only internet avilable to me.

i bought the game at a store, so im not dling it all off the internet.

is this a patch, or stuff already on my comp?

I don't know why you're downloading 15 GBs of data for AoC.  If you purchased a digital distribution then you would likely be downloading 32 GBs as that's the required hard drive space as listed on the box.

If you're talking about patching then perhaps you're using some sort of old beta client rather than having purchased a retail copy?  The patch that I downloaded after my initial installation was completed very quickly.  It was probably less than 1 GB or around that number.  If you're using a beta client then I highly recommend that you pick up the box.

I've had AoC for a week now, maybe two.  It's hard to imagine that the patch size has ballooned to 15 gigs, but anything's possible I suppose.

Perhaps it would help if you explained how you went about obtaining your copy of AoC.  If you purchased a digital distrubtion instead of a box when you know that you have a daily data limit, well man... .  It would be faster to order a box from Amazon, Gamestop, or what have you.

the client patch isnt 15gb that is for sure

i've got dsl, my max d/l is 150kb, it sucks, i downloaded every patch at about 30-120kb usually sticking around 80kb, took me a couple hours total for all the patches so far

The patcher does act screwy at times, and I have seen people getting a patch that big (and its an error, not really a patch). There is a post on the forums that tells you how to fix it, ill try to find it.

Ah I see!  I wasn't aware of this patching bug.  That explains it then... :-)

if its 15gb its one of four things

1. he is majorly over axajorating

2.he never bought the game and its trying to give people one more reason to not buy it

3.his computer had a virus currupting files and AoC saw that files were missing and is trying to replace them

4.bit torrent beta copy and want to use a friends account who doesnt live near him and is  not patching it to the max

lol it would only take me a few hours for that 1 mb per second when patching =)

If you purchased the retail box or the direct download after installing the game it will down load a 32 GIG patch then a 10 meg patch and then 2 other 2-9 meg patches. More as they try to optimze the game. If you  a player donsent have cable or DSL you will not be able to patch aas your banwith is used up in most contries at 10 GIG per month max.

Give it to a friend at Christmas and play StarFleetCommand 3 for free lol. 

Still a great game.

But yes your out of luck for AoC.
