This game look like it could be really good.  A good sci-fi game with a good premise.

Nice....I like they're adding another sci-fi game out there....

I'm Fantasy 4 life, but it's nice to add a lil change up to the mix.....

Isn't this just another browser-based MMORTS?  There are already several hundred-thousand space-based browser-based MMORTS games out there.

its not a browser based game. there is a download button. i assume you download the game from there.

its also a p2p only. i dont think a browser based game will be p2p only :)

hope not anyway

Well, it definitely plays like every other space-based browser-based MMORTS out there, from their own description.  There isn't actually anything there at the download button.  It will probably just offer a graphical client in tandem when it's "released".  A ton of the older games are going in that direction, offering crappy graphical clients as front-ends to their games.  As for P2P, that's not anything new for this niche.

This one might be different from the others, but so far, I'm seeing no indication that's the case and every indication that it's the same.

Hrm.  I like the way their minimum specs call for "512 GB RAM".  Anyway, I'm betting they've thrown together a crappy pseudo-3D client, looking at those specs.  A lot of companies in this niche have tried that, like I said.  If they actually do make a great client, the game should be interesting, but I doubt they will.

That little niche used to be really popular.  For a while, low-budget, space-based MMORTS's were common and almost all of them were doing pretty well.  Then they hit a saturation point, and a lot of them started to fail.  I used to be really into them, so I followed them for a while.

The fact that CCP is getting into it isn't a good omen for the rest.  CCP is now making a game that functions in basically the same way that all these others do, except they're using their previous expertise to make it really polished and have a nice 3D client.  To be honest, I think it will blow away all the other
