Originally posted by wh0astar I was just joking, I find it fun to mess with this mmo. But, seriously I know alot of girls that would look into this game. I am sure it will be rather successfull in Japan where is a way of life. I am a little worried about some of the other people that might play the game, it could turn into the next myspace for ill willed people. Originally posted by observer Difference here is that Hello Kitty is an established franchise, there is very little suprise in what you are going to get from this game. Take it most of you here don't realize how huge Hello Kitty is out there in the world! The game is not that bad and was quite fun to test and ran wonderfully well! |

I think it might attract more 20-30ish ladies in the US than they think. My ex-sister-in-law and my son's girlfriend, both mid-20's, are heavy into Hello Kitty collecting. I'll check it out too, I'm ashamed to confess. I am a lady too but older than that. And it will probably be huge with the 8-12 year old crowd.

I went totally "Harvest Moon" on the farming. Can you see it now? Harvest Moon Online? To each his own. Although it was cute overload, I actually had fun with it. It helps to have a 6 year old niece who thought I was the "bestest auntie in the whole wide world" for getting Hello Kitty Online. It *can* be a grind if you "work" it like a regular MMOG, but it's a lot of fun to simply run around chatting, showing off your house / farm / cool duds and doing the quests at the same time. The Hello Kitty Franchise is huge and the tools that Sanrio Digital has provided to grow the community is bonus - Hello Kitty email, video editor (Dream Studio), forums and blogs. All which can be accessed from the game itself. Somewhere in internet land, I think, a male gamer reviewed it. I recall him mentioning he had a hard time finding the least "pink" house to build.

It won't truly be a MMO success until we see naked kitties dancing on various objects, and farmers selling cat nip (the game's currency I assume) on their websites. We'll just call them nip farmers. Can you imagine the in-game spam messages? Message from UberKitty1092783: Buy ur Kat nip here. 1 mil nips/$10. Come to xxxxxx site now! omGz! |

Just wanted to correct something here... Hello Kitty Online WAS announced, and in development, when South Park did their WoW episode and Butters made the reference to "Hello Kitty Island Adventure." That episode aired on October 4th, 2006. I'm having trouble finding the original articles, because so many MMO sites have replaced/deleted them, but I can confirm that the first press release from Sanrio about plans for HKO was sent out on January 7th, 2005, some 21 months before the South Park episode. |

Is that the sound of the world grinding to a halt, and hell freezing over? I believe it is. |
