So i have tried playing EVE a few times, and i really enjoy the game. however, i always get kind of lost while looking at the skills and ships. I first started at the soldier school, and i enjoyed it for a while, but i have never been big on DPS or tanking in games. I really enjoy being group support. So i looked at a few more and there was nothing that really stood out to me.

Any experienced players have any suggestions? Would be greatly appreciated.

Support roles are pretty much just for big fleet engagements. Even then they are few and far between. You can always go the trade or mining route. Mining is fulfilling to a degree.

Sorry, no.
The closest to traditional "healers" would be Logistics ships, that are specialized on repairing. Those are not used in the super-huge fleets, but in everything from small 4-man gangs to medium 50 man fleets. They gain importance, but they are pretty skill intensive. The upside is, that if you can fly them, you will be able to fly Heavy assault ships, Recons, and will have the cruiser skill for your race at 5, plus all support skills at 5.
I specialized in logistics, and i think they are very fun to fly, especially if you find a few like-minded people spider-tanking and greatly augmenting the damage absorbtion power.

(And, by the way, you will be the ones getting all the fame after the engagement for saving your fleetmates. I have never seen anyone not thanking the logistic pilots..)

also tackle, either as an intercepter, interdicter or heavy interdicter are all very very good support rolls. Again the dps pilots love it when the target actualy gets blown up instead of flying away.

And electronic warfare is loved as support but loathed in an opponent. the falcon (caldari recon) is one of the most whined about ships in the game. A rapier (minnie recon) is also bloody useful to have on your side due to the long range webs, again the dps folks get to hit, when they wouldn't before against speed tanked ships.
