Sorry, I'm losing something here. What is the greatest game ever made?

If it were a seamless world w/o instances I would completely agree.  As it stands instancing made it outdated before it was even released.

Their "basic mistake" is that they needed two more years to finish the game before they released

First of all, im not trying to bash AOC, just to get it straight from the start. I havnt played the game, only watched some pvp clips on youtube, and i have to say, that it look REALLY great!. With that said, ill move on to what i really wanted to say when i started to write an reply:

Lots of ppl started their career in mmorpgs with WOW. its a rather ok game, and the system req is rather low. that attracts average ppl with average computers to the mmo community. The problem is, that average ppl dont want to go out buying a new computer because a great game with a bit high sysem req is released. They want to keep their 2year old computer and play other games, that their computer can handle.

I for one would love to try AOC, but i study at the uni atm, so i cant really affort a new computer :S and i bet there is more ppl out there with the same problem, not having enough money, or dont want to spend em all just for 1 game that might not be as fantastic as it looks.

That leads me to my next point ( and pls, no, im not trying to say that this game is better - its still not released) but im afraid that more people will go for Warhammer Online when its released. By the information given at this point, it seems like the system req not gonna be as high as for AOC, and my guess would be, that it makes the difference.

You're saying games will still be this shallow in two years? I somehow believe it.

I voted no because like its been said before AoC is way behind its time, I'd say it's behind EQ1 actually. Come to think of it AoC is actually behind the first mmorpg ever made, hm.

Come to think of it CoD4 is a more advanced mmo then AoC is.

ok lets clear something the recommended on the box is the min you want cause if your system is 2 year old you will hate us for sure this game is a ressource hog and we didnt even start the 48 player siege pvp thing when this happen expect most to set everything at the lowest setting avail.only the newest quad sli machine might run full-full at pvp siege so if you got a 2 year old machine you will need a new computer.

it was so not ready for market that they had to remoove directx 10 its 3 years ahead of most machine and 3 years too late content wise lol
