it should run it quite good , but with only 1 gb ram i would suggest not to use maximum texture quality. If i run eq2 with max textures then it usually seems to use 1gb-1.5gb ram and if you don't have that much the client will start using virtual memory and everything will slow down.

also your cpu is not that fast so you probably should disable some cpu intensive specials like shadows, cloth simmulation, flora, flora displacement (not sure if you need to disable all, but definitely disable shadows they are a real performance killer).

eq2 has lots of settings in the options/performance menu and it really doesn't hurt to experiment a bit to see what works best for your setup. you can also save/load options in the menu so if you find a good setup you can safe it and reload it if playing around does not give you better results.

You'll run fine on no higher than medium quality. If you want to play the game on the good settings, you need more ram.

Oh, and just so you know, the game won't recognize dual core processors. It came out before they became common.

it recognizes them but the gameengine is not written to utileze more than one core for most parts. a dev said the 2nd core is used on some smaller things like loading objects, but that does not really help with fps.
