Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

I never got around to trying it because of all the bad things i heard. But I read these forums and through word of mouth decided to try it.

Guys, this is by far the best game you aren't playing right now. The crafting system is very interesting, detailed, and reminds me of Ultima Online. The graphics are very close to AoC with better performance. Most bugs are gone, and players are coming back. I have had no issues finding groups, and quickly found a nice guild. The quests are well written and the interface does not fight you.

I may get some flames but from an MMO vet like me (UO, WoW, LOTRO, AC, etc) I have to say, this last week has been about as enjoyable a time as I have had in any MMO.

The best part of all is that I am an anti-Sony person, however, they have a hidden gem on their hands..

Players are coming back. Give it a shot!

I have to agree with you for the simple fact that it's all true. 

So your a MMO vet??

And yet you just created this account, and your very first post is "Vanguard is great". I'm sorry but it smells very much like you work for Sony...

Ofcause you could be for real, but I for one won't give you the benefit of the doubt. Vanguard have had their chance with me and they lost. There are mill of other MMO's out there that I would rather try.

If VG realy is so great as you say, then that will be my loss, and I'm willing to make that choice.

Bollocks sir, for those of us who enjoy some pvp, vanguard is an utter failure, its riduculously pointless, unbalanced,  and frankly any game where I can 1 shot people time and time again is a proven failure when it comes to pvp.

This guy reeks of an SOE mole.

Well EVERYTHING is great these days if you compare it with the non game Conan is.

I consider Conan the worst MMORPG ever published.

Because not ONE thing really works.

Not even its famous graphics because of the pathetic low number of players in each zone/copy AND the very low quality of the interface (bag items) and UI.

The rest is ALL broken: PvP combat, PVE dungeons, PVE middle and end game, professions, gathering,

You name ANYTHING a MMORPG could have a problem with ...and Conan has it.

But of course everything will be resolved with one miracle patch "this summer", THE director says.

They had ONLY ONE miracle patch after the first days of open Beta: namely: REDUCE the number of players allowed into ONE zone by more than 50%.

Voila problem solved.... they thought.

So give ANY other MMORPG a try but  think ...HOW desperate most players are to STILL wanting to enjoy this Age of Crap.

An SOE mole? lol If I was truely that, I would make posts like this all over boards and never respond. But here I am. What can I do to prove it to you? Or better yet, why bother?

Or next time try googling "donjn", the handle I have had for years on many internet boards.

Perhaps my line "Players are coming back. Give it a shot!" made you think I was advertising for them?

I am a 38 year old gamer dad, and a web designer  with nothing to hide. I do not work for Sony. I wish I did though!

I resubscribed too a couple of days ago from a six months break. The game has improved vastly and is actually worth spending some time in.

Well my friend DAOC was the best PVP in a long time and you could 1shot ppl with archers and asses all the time.
