well to some people this is a really new type of game for them. new UI, interface and basically overall. usually people like the WOW kind of games.

the combat is different but otherwise AOC is largely the same to me for "feel" when compared to other MMOs for game mechanics

WoW being easy and AOC being very easy?

Yeah its funny how people complain about how easy WoW is and this game is much much easier to level.

The mentoring or level up to the highest person in your group is abused to the point of absurdity. You can take a level 20 newbie out of tortage and level him up to 79 if you have a level 80 in the group and then go grinding EXP in level 80 instance. Ive seen guilds doing this and getting their members 20 levels a day. Boring sure, but effective.

No need to buy spells, armor or whatever. Doing the quests will get you all the armor you need. Spells and upgrades are free and given to you instantly. Food and drinks are available but not necessary.

You speak as if AoC is original.  It is not much different than WoW or other MMOs.  Directional attacks for melee...thats about all the originality the game has.  Otherwise it is just a mix of other game ideas.  Your title also implies that AoC is so awesome we just aren't ready to understand it.  That is incorrect.  The problem with AoC is that people were expecting a revolutionary MMO and what we got was a slight tweaking.

I am sure it will easily be a money making game and it will have its niche.  I do not expect it to retain over 500k subs after 6 months.  It will be a success, but not the new king of MMOs.

Despite the 123 combo combat (only really relevant for combat classes) there is NO different of importance between WoW and AoC.

AoC gameplay is really WoW .. just smaller and watered down and with prettier graphics.

Nothing new under the sun. So painfully alike that they even went with green and blue items.. lol

the game plays like a console game

very solo friendly

lacking content 50+

every thing is instanced

great graphics

gear dont mean squat

its hands down the most casual MMO I have ever played.....UO/EQ/EQ2/WOW/Daoc/VG/LoTR..and many others foor brief times

What new type of game? The gfx and UI is new... So I need to get ready for that? Lolzor....

You should ask "aren't we all sick enough of A-B-C-D so-called gameplay so that a gfx and UI revamp is enough to rekindle the old flame?"

zomg... I expect Crysis is "revolutionary" as well... pity the dumbassess unable to comprehend teh awesomeness of the "revolutionary" polygon count in that game...

..and if you mean the console-style game and quest structure + instance galore, then oh boy, I NEVER want to be ready for THAT, especially not in a MMORPG.
