Agree and I apologize for what I said to you then. If they really fixed the totem exploit, this is the first Ive heard about it. SO yea I admit, some of those things could be wrong or have been fixed, I didn't follow up with the game as much as I should have.

 

 

You know I'm actually shocked how my post on the official forums is going. I posted this there and I was expecting it to get a million replies of rabid fanboiism but its not, a lot of people are agreeing with it.  I'm stunned.

It could be because these bugs are there and people are seeing them, even if you love the game its still hard to hide the actual truth. I see the bugs but I am not gonna stop playing when I have my 30 days of game time. In these 30 days Funcom has a chance to show me just how competant they are and if I like how they are handeling things I will gladly keep my subscription active. If they fail, well then I keep my money and move on.

It just got launched.  It's running pretty smoothly in my opinion. 

Does it have bugs ? yes.  Doesn't every MMO at launch have bugs?  Absolutely. 

If it bothers you this bad come back in another 6 months and see how it's running.

Could not agree with you more and I really didn't mean to give off that vibe.  Siege warfare is probably FUBAR along with many other aspects of the game.  I'm 64 and I guess it isn't that bad for me.  It's all about resilience I guess?

Nathan has a point. It is all about how much you want to tolerate in your product. If you can have a blind eye to these things then by all means enjoy your game.

Unfortunately it really seems to me funcom focused so much on making a good combat system and a decent intoductory experience, they hoped it would be enough to keep you while they patch up the rest down the road. They problably couldn't wait any longer revenue wise so they gave us a decent overall experience for first half of the game.

Should we expect this of all MMOs?

What has me jaded is that FunCom promised SO much and we had delays and delays all inthe name of revamping the combat system and polish. I feel like a sucker. I mean - the drinking cape, a promotional item for preodering, doesn't even work??? Drunken brawling not in game?

I can understand bugs in isolated areas, remote quests maybe not functioning, lag spikes in cities now and then. That I will tolerate for many months.

What will you all tolerate to keep sending in your $15/ month?

Yep thats funcom......same thing happen to us when we beta tested AO......i hear its all squared away now though lol lol

I think you hit the nail on the head with that comment, a friend of mine and I were just talking about this last night. Like I have said though, I have my free game play and what they do between now and then determines if I sub or not.

Agree on everything.

And to answer your question I think it will probably depend on the rate in which all of these promised things are put out.  I've always wanted to go back to Planetside.

I think if you see the box in the store and it says it has direct x 10 and seige battles, and you install the game to find out those things aren't in, you should get your money back.  It's deceptive marketing.  Probably most stores won't give you your money back though, so for the individual there is little recourse.  Maybe if there was a class action lawsuit but that's a lot of trouble for 50 bucks or so.

There is always an organization that will fight for the people when businesses start falling out of line.
