*Warning, long post ahead* 1. The mail system is broken. This is the one that made me cancel my account. I lost 2 gold when I sent it from one character to the other, and after waiting 3 hours for a petition, when it was my turn the petition was closed. No words, no "We're sorry we can't reimburse gold that was lost due to our buggy game mechanics", no NOTHING. /quit
2. Skills are broken. Perception, run speed, endurance, and god knows what else is broken. Also, some combos are broken.
3. Stats on items are broken. At least, this is what most people think. We dont know, because Funcom has never responded to this issue even though it comes up 20 times a day on their forums. If the stats on items AREN't broken , then what they change is so insignificant, then they might as well not have any stats at all. The only stats we know are working are stamina and wisdom, they both increase the maximum health/mana pools respectively.
4.Mounts are buggy. Fighting on horseback isnt really an option at this point, it's so completely buggy that they should have left the mouts out until they were fixed ( imo sieging is probably not in-game because of this reason, it's probably buggy as all hell too.)
5. Many quests are broken or get bugged out. Enter the Pyramid, The Wounded Child, The Emerald Guardian, etc. Also some quests will only work in epic mode, and it doesn't tell you that you need to do them IN epic mode. The level 60 destiny quest also is notoriously buggy.
6. Some higher-level quests are exploitable. I'm not going to go into details on this one, but let's just say that with these exploits you can easily get 6 or 7 levels in a very short time. You want to know how there are so many level 80's? Uh huh.
7. Crafting is broken. And when you can actually craft weapons or a piece of armor, they end up being not worth the hassle of making.
8. The customer service is without a doubt, the worst CS I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. See #1.
9. Features advertised on the box that aren't in-game, noticably sieging. I will make a bet with anyone that they will release sieging in an expansion pack, just like they did with Anarchy Online and Notum Wars.
10.Minimap gets bugged out, can't see teammates on your radar unless they are within a ridiculous distance.
11. Constant lag spikes that make your ping go over 10,000. I don''t think anyone playing the game can deny this one, unless it's just on the server I used to play on. (Cimmeria)
12. The latest patch introduced so many bugs, it's not even funny. Mobs disappear when theyre 2 feet away from you, stamina potions that can be used over and over again (everlasting stamina potion bug), everlasting mez bugs that force you to log out. I dont know about you guys, but if I play a game and the only way to fix a problem is to log out and log back in, I lose interest pretty quickly.
13. The mobs get bugged out easily. I'm sure you've seen it - a creature or NPC will be flailing his arms, looking like he's swimming on land. It's ridiculous and not something Ive ever experienced in any other online game. (I wont call this game a MMORPG, it's not.)
14. The armor looks crappy. This game was supposed to have over 1400 armor sets or something. Well, it might. Too bad they gave 95% of them to the NPC's, and made a level 20 looks the same as a level 60. Seriously, the level 40-50 guards in the Noble District, the Black Dragon guards, have cooler loooking armor than a level 80 does. I'll stop here before my post becomes ridiculously long. I will be surprised if this game retains half of the people who bought the game. That's just my opinion though. Most of these things posted above, however , are not opinions. They are what's really going on.
I guess it was fun for 2 weeks, so I'm not bitter. But I would never pay another 15 bucks to this unfinished, buggy as all hell game. Thanks for reading! |

A good size list and I am sure there could be more, but I will comment on a few.
2. Not really sure on this one but I can say that they are working differently then before the last patch.
3. This is definately a big question so I would agree, we do not know what is working or not with stats.
5. Totally agree with this, and yes the quests you pointed out are definately BUGGED.
10. This I think they are still working on, at least now we get something, before the last patch all we even got to show a group member was a tiny silver dot.
12. Not really sure if the last patch was good or bad, I did see a difference in my character inner workings (not for the better) but as far as some of the other bugs you mentioned I havent really experianced any of them.

I have to say, I agree with most of what is on this list. Funcom really should have considered taking yet another delay on there release date rather then releasing half there game, thinking that people would wait patiently for it to be fixed. |

After getting to number 5 i stopped reading. Those are 30-40s quests. Give the game more of a chance. When you get to 60 or 70 I'll give you more room to talk. |
Originally posted by soad_nathanWhy, so I could go exploit the totem quest like everyone else is doing?
And I only made it to level 56. I don't have time to play all day, although I really wish I did. I could have never made it to 60's or 70's anyways, the constant bugs would have killed me long before then. |

Originally posted by SlytheExactly my point, you have no room to talk. The exploits are fixed by the way. And if you haven't heard, there are more people complaining about how harsh FC is punishing exploiters than people complaining about the existence of them. |

Originally posted by soad_nathan Nonsense, that is the only word I can think off, come level 54+it gets worse, yep the grind is a nightmare and I do mean Nightmare, you have almost no quests and even if you do you are scared to do them as it increases the grind later,I am sorry but it is ok to say you enjoy the game but to give out bad advice is something else, atm the fun in this game is from level 1-40 after that you will feel the grind and from level 54+it is nothing but grind. Also take away the bugs etc that come with a new release the lack of world chat is terrible, you are basically only in touch with your guild and ooc(the ooc is zone bound)so you could only be talking with 100 ppl and trust me not all talk,it can get very very quiet, now I could be wrong here but doesnt mmorpg.com have in it's rules that there has to be ameeting place where 500+ppl can be together?again maybe I am wrong but doesnt AoC have zone limits of 300? I dont know for sure about the last 2 points there but I do know that this game lacks in atmosphere and questing, btw a wanted poster to kill 25 ppl with 5k xp to complete it over and over again doesnt quailify as questing in my book. |

Originally posted by soad_nathan Oh ok, I have no room to talk. Guess what genius - I bought the game, played the game so I do have room to talk. Don't get bent out of shape because everything I posted is true. If you like the game that's great, but saying I have no room to talk just shows how completely ignorant you are. |

Originally posted by PureChaosThis is a good question, however the fact is no one forced you to buy the game, it was a chance you took and unfortunately this is what you got. Unfortunately NO game ever releases in top notch condition so when you buy a game right at release you better expect bugs. I expect bugs because I know its a fact of the gaming world with new releases but I am willing to look passed the bugs because what concerns me the most is how a company handles those bugs and how fast they fix them, this to me is whats most important and can make my decision to give said company a chance. Originally posted by Slythe I'm really not bent out of shape and I really didn't intend to make anyone like that. I wasn't hinting that I play all day, I wasn't hinting that I'm better than you just because I've been through more of the game, I was merely trying to find a more logical reason as to why you think this game is so horrible. I went back and I read the rest of your points and you made some really good arguments. It does boil down to preference though. But please don't for a second think that "everything" you posted was true. |
Originally posted by soad_nathanAgree and I apologize for what I said to you then. If they really fixed the totem exploit, this is the first Ive heard about it. SO yea I admit, some of those things could be wrong or have been fixed, I didn't follow up with the game as much as I should have.
You know I'm actually shocked how my post on the official forums is going. I posted this there and I was expecting it to get a million replies of rabid fanboiism but its not, a lot of people are agreeing with it. I'm stunned. |

Nathan you really are brushing against a hard bush,I mean I dont know what level you got to but I was level 60 and it was a nightmare maybe you got further but cant you even admit that the game is unfinished? From level 1-40 was nice, questing wise that is,the combat was good and also the story lines,But my god after 40 and for sure after 50 the questing was terrible even the story lines took a dive, like I said before the atmosphere in game is almost none excistent and the bugs just get so much worse,Yes I know they have said they will release a new"level 55-60 zone in the summer"we will wait and see if that happens. Atm I see this game as a run of the mill mmo with nice graphics and some promise but ppl wondering if they should play ....nope give it some time to move on ...and move on quite a bit,so many things dont work like crafting, quests, zone's not loading and never mind end game there isnt much to do mid level game. |

Originally posted by ASmith84 I heard this kind of crap for a year in Vanguard.... I am not waiting, I traded a shit load of games in at gamestop for this game because I was broke after EA as over. I don't even want to hear, we will patch promises! This stuff should have been fixed a long time ago. Its amazing how these companies take 5 years to make these games, and put out junk like this. Bugs Bugs Bugs. I have an assassin and he can't even stealth behind mobs that are his own lvl with 20 points higher than cap for his lvl. They break stealth everytime, its unreal. I have bug reported it and reported for what nothing. He might as well be a monk using weapons. Shit is gonna need to be fixed soon, or this game is going to fall very fast into the trash for alot of people. It has alot of itemization problems and alot of variety, I thought when I got to Khimi I would be fighting new things. HA forget that, same mobs just different quests, kind of felt like WoW all over. Come on after killing crocodiles for 50 skins I didn't want to see another one again in the game, hell no some guys wife gets eaten and now I have to go kill more in another city. Unreal I don't know, there are alot of things wrong with a few positives. Not sure how much longer I will play. Fire |
