So I noticed an email from Blizzard saying my password was reset, then another email followed saying my account has been suspended for 72 hours.

I go to account management on the website but it only takes me to one screen when i log on that basically reads "your screwed" in other words of course.

After gathering what info i could and looking up my mains on the website toon search to see all my armor that can be sold to vendor is missing. I come to the conclusion that my account has been hacked and because of this the good people determined to place a permanent banned on my account for economy exploitation. Which i am kinda of offended by because i never messed with out of game sales or rl cash for game coin.

My opinion about out of game sales for in game junk is that no matter how hard Blizzard or any other MMO company tries to regulate and ban it it's still going to effect the gaming economy. Blizzard's approach led to a wide spread account hacking to transfer game coin. Blizzards fix to this problem is to banned the owner of the account who had nothing to do with these exploitations to begin with while the real culprits run wild and move on to the next account.I really think they should just let game coin for rl cash happen maybe regulate it like second life or those eq2 servers that allow it. They can't stop it and if they did let it happen to some extent then problems where account holders being banned for something they had nothing to do with will most likely stop.

I been playing since the release and invested a lot of time in the game and on those toons so I'm not thrilled about their decision but somewhat relieved that it's over and now i can move on but to where now?.... I can't play WoW because i have no faith in how they handle problems and anymore it's just a spam and hack fest for game coin, bots etc... 

So what game would you recommend that isn't so PC intensive but still has nice art work despite not having a high tech graphic engine, and a good mix of pvp, pve, raiding like WoW. I like a game with a healthy population, customer service, interesting lore, overall fun to play. Help me out here I'm eager for a new beginning with a new game. Any genre MMORPG would be good. lol pick me a game!!!! ;-)

that's always been Blizzards way of fixing problems though, they can't fix it so they nerf it. lol now my account been nerfed because they can't fix security issues. =/

It is common practice for alot of MMO companies to "ban" people like that.  They can easily find or figure out if you purchased in-game gold w/RL cash by checking the character transaction history (which they do have access to)

Your account was hacked, probably due to a mod you downloaded or the clicking of a link from the forums (also known as keylogging)

While Blizzard does bring a "gun to a knife fight" when it comes to banning people, they are wiling to listen and correct the issue.  A RL bud of mine got hacked due to a compromised mod he downloaded from wowinterface.  All his characters were vendered and all his gold was transferred.  It took them a week, but Blizzard re-imbursed ALL lost items and gold.

Don't blame Blizzard.  While your case may be legit, there are many non-legit cases out there.  If you want to continue to play, you should contact Blizzard.  They can be contacted at:

I stopped playing months ago and was told yesterday my character was online, just today i submitted a ticket to blizzard so hopefully whoever was using it is banned and cant get on any more?

Anyway, just wait it out if youve been hacked blizz are usually good with it they will take 72 hours to investigate it but if youve done nothing wrong then youll get your account and items back.

However, since my accounts are always clean and I would rather spend money on fishing tackle rather than virtual money, I got my account back and all of my items returned.  All i had to do was fax my Photo I.D. to prove who I was and my address etc and it was a done deal.

To be honest here, I dont know anyone who is legit that got hacked more than once that got a perm account ban.  The only people who get the perm ban are those who broke the EULA.  Dosent even need to be why you got hacked to never let the account reactivate.  Cool beans on my end.

It wont effect it.  You need to call blizzard.  Yes.. Call them.. and tell them that your account got hacked and you want to recover it.  They will tell you the protocol and what to do.
