Requiem: Bloodymare

They announced the end of the open beta tonight and with it the retail release date and pricing/features of what they call a premium account.  It's more like the only playable version of the account while you get the most gimpified free version I ever heard of as an unlimited time trial account.  They still feel the need to call it free to play but they are going so far as to even limit the chat of free players.  Anyone not subscribing will only have access to chat with people within a few meters of you ingame, with a single person via pm's, with the party you are currently in, or with your guild.  There is no open chat at all open to free players to ask questions, look for groups, etc.  To make matters worse by default the "local" chat is turned off when you are listening to guild chat or even party chat so most of the time even if you are standing next to a paying player they won't hear you ask for a group.

This is not the worst of the news however, they have NO content past level 40 in the game at all, which can be reached by playing even moderate amounts in under a week, even faster since premium accounts get an xp boost.  Oh and while getting to 40 you will be plagued with broken quests, stats that don't work (very few of them do anything really), graphics that are very prone to glitches and even on the beefiest systems have unacceptable levels of lag, half translated quests for the ones that do work, overlapping descriptions on skills so you can't really read what they do at all, etc...  It's a staggering list of what's wrong with this game, but during the entire beta phase (I was in both closed and open betas) not ONE serious bug we reported has been fixed.  They did a few text edits on some quests once in closed beta, but the open beta release put them back to the messed up versions.  And now suddenly they are ready for release and premium users...

Well, i don't know whats so bad to make free user accounts unplayable, premium account gains 50% more exp, 30%  more drops, 1 death penalty instead of 4 and being able to use region chat...so what? They will lvl faster but what did you hope? and the drops are for everyone...more drops...more items for sale, cheaper stuff.

I don't know what there will be in the item mall but...people who use to buy from it  would rather spend 15$ or 8$ for basic on a montly bonus other than 5$ for silly scrolls that increase ur exp for a few of hours.

People playing for free will lvl almost as fast as in the OB and getting the same drops and even lant drop will be better, so i don't get your complains since you have been playing almost as a free user until now...all because free users won't use region chat? god bless them! it was spamming chat for noobs.

So from my point of view i think premium and basic service is awsome.

Another thing is that they won't keep the game as it is now, it would be retarded and there will be a surprise in the released version, not everything will be perfect and polished but it will be by far better fixed than currently is. A new race is comming, not by the release date but it will be there soon. I might be wrong but they wont just release the game as it is now, that they didn't release new content for the OB doesn't mean they don't have it for the release. 

I'm gonna give it a chance before flame, as no one knows how the released version will be.

Btw it's a F2P game, but maybe you have never seen a premium service before.

People playing for free will level 25% slower than OB according to the GMs, that however I could care less about, and I agree premium should have advantages such as the higher xp/drops and even the 3 day head start.  The problem I have is that the so called free players can't use region chat.  You dismiss this out of hand but it is a HUGE deal, especially since one of the quests you will hit before even getting your first job REQUIRES a group.  No region chat seriously hurts you in that respect.  In every mmorpg there is some form of chat for the current map/zone and none I've ever heard of restricted that to paying players, it's a basic game feature NOT a perk.  Now a true global chat that worked across maps would be a perfect idea for premium, limiting free players to local chat that doesn't even work as far as you can actually see, and which by default is even turned off in most chat modes is not just a bad idea it's a game breaker.

I dont see why any one would pay for this game lol its not better than rappelz archlord and some other F2p games out there.  it totally lacks content and even special items , drop rate is really bad as is and when you do get a drop 90% of the itme its shop food crap.   You can spend lots and lots of time trying to get armor for say lvl 40 and you will be lvl 45 by the time you get all the parts and have to start gringing for the next set of gear .   most of the random mobs give crap for exp you can kill mob lvl 47 here and get 1k exp or kill lvl 47 mob over there and get 5k exp totally stupid 80% of the mobs around give low exp.  

No customization at all, every one looks the same.  for a game thats supose to be bloody you will see people running around is some yellow and pink armors such a pain to look at. i have a feeling the population is going to drop and its going to be sad when you pay for prem lvl up so fast there is no one to play with.  

Still, with that 25% drop in experience leveling will be "fast" compared to the rest of F2P games, there are many 50+ and 55+ at the moment in the open beta when not even 1 month has passed since it oppened, so 25% drop in exp won't really be a matter. Don't forget that yes...they will drop the exp a 25%, but premium gives 50%...so premium users will gain about the same exp as you get now during the OB, they simply recover that 25% lost.

About the region chat...yes it sucks for finding a group, but if you are in a guild and knowing some people you couldn't care less about it. And no, you don't need group for first job change quest, people simply use pots. I'm sure they removed the region chat from free users because of the real spamming, it was painful and most of the time people just disabled it, so maybe give thanks to the noobs who fucked up that channel during the OB. Maybe there will be something to find group for free users or a way to shout in region channel such as a consumable or paying lant for example. If you don't get premium or basic you can even get a friend who has it to shout for you.

At least the region channel doesn't matter to me, plus if they make the released version much better compared to the OB (more content and such) i wouldn't mind paying a Basic or Premium service.

In every F2P people who spend more money is the one with the most advantage, but if requiem doesn't fuck it with the cash shop it will be an awsome game, as premium service it's simply great as it is now.

Edit to say that i've just read that general chat is going to have more range so people can look for party in the same area without the need of using region chat

Well, have you guys even played the premium version before you posted your thoughts here? Remember, it was said that what you get in OB is not always what you get in a final release. Play premium and then post your  gripes.
