you know...

i remember back in the 80s how George Lucas was anti-establishment and anti entreprenures and he always bragged about his constant fight against the establishment.

Currently, he is the leading entreprenure in entertainment (Speilburg a close 2nd) and he'll sell his soul to make a few extra dollars here and there.  This game is just a perfect example.

George Lucas reminds me the world famous hippy in the 60s/70s now the leader of a mass corporate empire that places his influence in everything......

ya soul caliber two was awesome 3 sucked, 4 is going to blow.

Im sick of random ass placement of characters in games.

Even Spawn was a little bit of a stretch for me.

I agree.

I find the whole Soul Calibur setting to be quite immersive...well as immersive as a fighting game can be anyway, but these characters and settings really break the immersive and turn the game into yet another fighting game.

oh well, I still have the first Soul Calibur.

ehh, I don't really think of it as taking away immersion, I think of it as being given the opportunity to enact some pretty epic battles with some cool characters.

There's something kinda sad about the way that things have come to be, desensitized to everything, what became of subtlety?

There is no witness so terrible and no accuser so powerful as conscience which dwells within us.

Eh I kinda disagree.

I kinda take it more as taking really badass characters that you like from other things, and giving them a horrible skillset and sticking them in a game so people will buy it.

I mean really now, Yoda should totally wreck shop, but you know they can't overpower him, so it just ruins the whole reason to put a badass in a game like that.  It all ends up being for the money.

Ok so imagine this.

Your watching the lord of the rings movies, and suddenly a nazi with a machine gun starts shooting up gondor.

Same principle.

Nonsense! Nothing says 'medieval fantasy' better than a green dwarf with an energy sword fighting a gimp in a life support suit.

Geez.. they need to focus less on the characters most people will be too embarassed to play and more on those that will actually see some screen time.

Thats not soul caliber, look at the first two soul calibers, they are the most story based fighters out there.

If you want random characters with that level of combat the only thing that was good is the old marvel cs campcom

ehh, no it's not...you're not talking about a game like Metal Gear Solid that runs on its story line, you're talking about a fighting game here...It's not like they're putting in a Super Mario cameo in Mass Effect.
