my thoughts as I read this thread were:

-FC's forum mods need to get a grip

-people get way too hung up on words

-I am damn glad I rolled on a Pve server

-Funcom has gotten themselves in over their heads

-The GM's need some training ASAP or a transfer to a PvE server

-People who roll on a open PvP server should expect ganking and spawn camping

-FC needs to make a buffer zone around spawn points or come up with some other mechanic to stop spawn camping

-once again I am glad that LoTRO is primarily PvE and the mechanics of MPvP keeps crap like this from ever happening.

I can see both points but in a full PvP server there should be a liberty to kill anyone as you want, solo or in group, like if in the real world they released a law that you could kill anyone with no problems lol, sure this is annoying for the one that is being killed all the time, but whatever you can't have everything (on one server lol)

This is like full PvP server but be gentle

I've got the perfect idea. On the server select screen, when you choose PvP, a big box pops up with a warning. "EXPECT GANKING, SPAWN CAMPING, GRIEFING, WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK. FUNCOM IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR OTHER PEOPLES' ACTIONS." I'd laugh so hard and be happy that the people who like to spawn camp, grief, ect. can be stuck in thier little corner without people whining to the GMs. Also, PvPing in a group is kind of the whole point...this isnt 1v1 dueling...

Rofl..so..in a 18+ game you aint allowed to curse, and you aint allowed to spawncamp on the pvp server. Whatever they give their gm's I want some of that. This is typical Funcom though. Their gm's act like idiots in AO too. Often it seems like their left hand havent got a clue about what their right hand is doing. They often contradict themselfes, having one rule outside the game, while the gm's have the the opposite rule ingame.

That is what is keeping me away from this game, my experience with the company. They got good ideas and such, but they employ brainless morons to run them and developers who hardly know that lda, mov, cmp etc. stands for, and have no clue at all what structural programming actually means.

I mean, if they don't want group ganking, implement a mechanic to stop it....

I remember on Lineage 2 despite the "getting red thing", when a group of 5 entered the room of the instance and I was solo or with a friend against creeps, we got scared like hell all the times, that was fun, but when they attacked us was not so fun lolol

That can be an additional feature for PvP servers, guilds that attack and steal players in group and guilds that live to protect that poor souls victims of gankings etc etc etc

Just an idea, of course everyone has his own ideal server caracteristics and way of play...

they shouldn't need gm's to format pvp. they should have designed the game in the first place to stop ganking if they don't want it to occur, not hire gms to go around banning people. going totally the wrong way abouts things imo.

if you dont want spawn camping make them safe zones with elite guards or something. people shouldn't get banned for fc's poor game design, no mater how mean they are being.

And another thing - as I have said before - if you allow "trash talk" in your game and in your forums then you should not be surprised when the game play also gets 'nasty'?

But anyway - looks like another MMO which  was  not properly designed  and incourages "ganking"?

In every other game I have ever played (and I have played a lot) when people grief they usually go into the general chat and request people to help (or ask their guildies to come help).

If they aren't exploiting then that's life.

I am happy to say, none of this crap is happening on their RP-PvP servers or the Culture PvP.  Many carebear RPers are on those servers and many of them don't start crap unless they really have to.

For the first time I have actually enjoyed y time on a PvP server when I joined Cimmeria (RP-PvP).
