Ok, I will give it a rest and I really dont want to be offencive, but I think you understand why I was against your musical/mmo analogy. It just didnt made any sense use pop music to go against pop music. The game is designed for players, if you think AoC is a console game, you may think DDO, Guild Wars and EQ2 are console games. ( you know why ) AoC doesnt have the main feature console players love, real time combat... and we still dont know how the 360 version will be. No, your opinion about WoW and AoC is your opinion, the arrogance is in the way you showed your opinion thinking these games and its players are shallow and less deeper than you or the game you like. AoC is not the game for you, as WoW is not the game for me, I can agree with that, but a misinformed changed interview and a elitist posture ( with no fundation) are not necessary good ways to show your opinion.

I really thought WoW would be the most dumbed down mmorpg i ever played but somehow Funcom has beaten them with AOC. This is just about the easiest mmorpg ever made. I sure hope we move back towards old school mmorpg at some point and not handing you everything without any challenge. |

Originally posted by Nikoz78 Well I think you are worried about the inevitable. Times change and always will. I played Star Wars Galaxies from launch until the NGE. I loved the game, but then came WoW and I loved it as well (its not a perfect game but it is a good game). The entire game industry is about making money, and so is the movie and music industry. I do not blame Funcom for trying to tap into the console market its a very lucritive market indeed. The console market also makes it easier for game companies to develop their games for.I am not worried in the least by this because I see the benefits it could bring to the table. Better games with less bugs, and as they develop more for this generation the better they will get. I do not care to play AOC it does not appeal to me at all. The entire instancing thing turns me off at the git go,But I am not goin to bash the game or its players because I do not like it. The only way I will ever play a console again is if they do get some good mmos out on them, until then I will stay with PC. |

Originally posted by aleos Well, I agree with some of your points, but this is not a WoW issue This is a MMORPG community issue, people dont like games anymore, and we can see it here. After WoW we had DDO, Vanguard, AoC, Guild Wars etc ... All of them arent similar to WoW, well, you can see some common points, but it is just because they are all MMORPGs. There are a lot more Lineage 2 clones than WoW. But it is always funny when people think Everquest and UO were perfect and everything now is a wow clone and a silly game, and I dont understand why these people dont play Everquest or UO anymore... because the only good EQ and UO are the original ones? I think most of these players are lost in memories. The only thing we can blame WoW is for letting everyone experience what is a MMO, not because it is better or easier, but because it is popular..

I dont play UO and EQ anymore because I made the mistake of stopping play. I was hoping to find something even better which utilized better graphics, engines etc. I cant imagine going back to UO now and starting over. Regardless, I am not the ones who are critical of the developers for creating games that sell in today's market. I will simply sit back and wait until I find something that suits me.
