Well another MMO launched and once again I find myself disappointed. Age of Conan didnt even come close to what I had hoped for in an MMO. And frankly, it isnt a true MMO but rather an MO. Ive read the FAQ on SGW site, it doesnt really go into details so Im assuming it isnt know yet. So I'll direct this to the devs of SGW...
Im sick and tired of every MMO since Star Wars Galaxies ending up in my trash can. I dont enjoy WoW clones yet every developer thinks I do. SGW's audience is more mature and sophisticated, dont give us a design thats meant to appeal to the dumbed down masses. Give us a game meant for gamers

I am another dissapointed MMO gamer. I am glad that I didn't have to upgrade my rig for AoC.
Non-combat options is something that I am looking forward to try. I am tired of playing MMOs at the moment because they don't bring nothing new to the table.

On the flip side, if I hand you a gun and open terrain to "find your own destiny" with zero NPC errands, tasks or quests, what exactly would you have left to do? Oh yeah... kill 10 boars. Over and Over. And over. Just like an Asian F2P game. |

Originally posted by Talyn I completely agree that the quest grinding does become entirely mind numbing as evidenced in WoW. I would like to see a broad range in a field of objectives - I don't want to be required to fulfill 90-something quest chains to be able to participate in an offensive on a raid styled boss, but i am willing to go into an adventure with a group or on my own that will appropriately reward me for my time. |

It's only justified for the crafters though. Adventurers remain in a perpetual "now what?" state. Also don't forget there are some players who downright resent crafting (and economies) at all and would prefer all drops. |

I agree with the OP. Game killers are: And another thing that kills games: F2P with a "pay for items" system. This always fails among western gamers. They seem popular in Korea though. I dunno. - Phos

This post reminds me of when someone loses their job and thinks an entire corporation will crumble to the ground without them. Just because some random forum guy says a game is a failure doesn't make it true. As for SGW, I have no interest in it... so it will fail.... yeeaaahhhh. Not everyone shares your opinion on what makes a good game. |

Honestly, he might've worded the title a bit wrong, but respect what he wants. im not sure how mature as an answer hey mate go get a girlfriend or get some friends, rather a reply of a 10 y old kid , or a complete moron... this is an opinion about how this guy feels about the TRUE continual cheating of developers which instead of trying to make something its really fun to play they expect us to buy every piece of shit they develop... Considering your 1st paragraph mate i cant agree cause i cant think what machine i should have if AOC wouldnt have some zones, and in same screen would appear more than 200 ppl ,since from what i hear ppl with dual core and decent graficks cards as AOC is right now they already having problems with loading times.. I agree with you that in an mmo rpg therer shouldnt be much instanced zones..it should be like wow areas ..free to run adventure and explore, wow which i already am so bored of after playing it 3 years ofc..which shows us it has some addictive elements. AOC in my opinion wont fail..its much better from the king of mmos -->wow...and if i try to recall how wow looked like on launch heh no comparison, aoc wins. i DO expect though from funcom if possible to contain the instancing part in future and gief ppl a flavour of freedom in their choises and adventuring.. |

Well I wouldn't say AoC is a failure, it definately has it's short comings. A seamless world is not overly important. I like areas being capped at so many people. Areas and spawns can only handle so many people. I'm all for competition but there is a point where it stops being competition and starts being ridiculous. MMO have become way to linear. A nice mix between the two would be great. Non-combat skills/systems that amount to anything besides wastes of time and money have been sorely missed. I agree player housing is very important. But I wouldn't mind it being tucked away in some corner like AoC or LOTRO. I wouldn't want another UO where housing over ran the world. |

It is not what it said it was, definitely released too early.
I miss Everquest. That game had some similar features of SWG, and miss the whole sandbox "figure it out" type of game. No map, no quest guides, no soloing to max level. It is a MMO, lets make sure you have to group to gain levels. Im so tired of the WoW clones. |

Your title is a failure if anything is a failure. You posted your title as if it were some kind of well known fact and that couldb further from the case. If you don't like the game. OK. It isn't for everyone. But to make a title the way you did...was wrong. It is your opinion on how "you" feel toward the game. I am enjoying it very much and so are hundreds of thousands of others. ![]() |

A failure? It's got 400.000 Subscribers the day it hit the shelves I don't play it either but the fact that you do not like it, OP, does not make it a failure...

Don't want to be a party pooper but I would at least research this game a bit, before posting. I know the game is still in development but the concept may surprise you. |
