not many programs use 4 cores so most people will tell you to get the the e6850

but the q6600 can be easily overcloked to 3ghz. so i would get the q6600 and overclock it. that way it will give you the same performance to programs that use 1 and 2 cores as the e6850 and in the future you will be able to use up all 4 cores ase more games and programs will be programmed to use up up 4 cores.

so imo go for the q6600

So q6600 is better for games?

I heard that is not so good to overclock a CPU

On the contrary, overcloking a cpu is perfectly fine if you know what your doing. If you havent done it before, a good guide and much care should lead to a succesful experience. Regardless, I would recomend the E8400 over the E6800, that is if you are looking at the dual core proc. If you want a quad core I would say go for the Q9300. It's a bit more than the Q6600, but offers a nice performance booste, and a few features not supported on the Q6600. At the moment, the gaming performance of the E8400 is greater than that of the Q9300 in most games. Some are starting to make use of quad cores, but most games remain un-optimised for them. Until the day this changes the core duos will likely hold an advantage.

A comment on your graphic cards. If you can I would suggest waiting until mid June for the release of both ATI's and Nvidia's new cards. They both promise quite a large jump in performance, and should not be any more expensive then todays cards.

If you have any questions or want help with your build, feel free to pm me.
