WAR (Warhammer Online)

I ordered my Collector's Edition today from Amazon.com and it says that the game will be released on September 30, 2008. I want to know if this is true because I look in some other websites and they say that the game will be released on Q3/Q4 2008. I don't really know anything about Q1, Q2, Q3 or Q4 because we don't use that in my country. I would Apreciate if someone can explain it to me.

amazon.com always has a date listed for release even if they have no clue what the release date is. It's just the way they do things...for some reason that I don't quite get lol.

Yea, the Amazon website is just applying a general date for release. No exact date has even been released yet by Mythic. There site does not even give an exact date so i am assuming there isnt one yet.

There has been no official date given by EA/Mythic yet, but I have 3 preorders for the collector's edition (for my family and a friend) each one from a different vendor (gamestop, amazon, and walmart). Each one of these vendors emailed me stating that the release date for the game is now September 30th. Im not making any presumptions about that, but it is odd that 3 seperate companies are claiming the same date and saw to it that they notified me of the change.

you dont see it as odd that 3 companies that make a living off selling the same product would have decent communication skills and enough intelligence to pick a reasonable date?

Could really care less about a date...I'm tired of half-assed MMOs being released and paying for a beta!  Mythic can take as long as they want so they deliver an exceptional game from the start!

I wanna play just as bad as everyone else, but I want to play it once its been fully tested and balanced.

 No way WAR is released this year !!! 

The current beta client don't even have lightmaps and shaders yet.  And when it does, there will be months of graphical tweaking.

AOC has made a minor/major/huge (you decide) success. WAR has more pressure then ever if they are going to steal players from both WOW and AOC.

I beg Mythic and EA NOT to rush the release. 

I've watch all the podcast, and on paper WAR seems to add tons of amazing, innovative stuff that I really love. But if Mythic rush, I'm pretty sure all the features there are talking about will just
be "on paper".

The MMO market needs WAR to complement what WOW and AOC lack. DONT RUSH !!!

i hope they don't rush the game either but i don't think it'll be to tough to pull players from other games. They already have a good sized fanbase just because of  the good job they did with DaoC. Me and a bunch of ex-camelot friends are patiently waiting for the release and I'm sure there are alot more that will drop their current filler mmo once WAR is released. What happens from their depends on how good of a job mythic did polishing up the game for release.
