AoC is nothing but a gank fest.

I am a huge Conan robet.Howard fan and know the lore top to bottom and all I have to say is AoC is a huge gank fest. Days go by when I want to play and when I log in someone is swinging at me.--All this and on an RP server too boot! There is no difference in rules from an RP server to a full PvP server toons all round here.

This game sucks because I cant get the chance to explorer or even simlpy talk to people. They just start swinging all the fracking time. I killed my fair share but to be honest, I dont play games to get fustrated so guse who?

This is what happens with FFA PvP servers on a LEVEL based game. It's just stupid. No matter how good you are, you can't WIN against someone past a few levels higher than you. So, you just get raped.

And 80 of them levels too. I'm sure Funcom will realize pretty quickly how bad it is, hopefully they can either A) Put in some rulesets or B) Make a seperate PvP server with a ruleset that gives limited FFA, not complete FFA. They better pay attention to what poorly implemented PvP did to POTBS. I'm sure they will add some artificial protections eventually. Devs who want to survive usually do.

I'm not sure if it depends what server you are on, but so far (touch wood) I've only experienced ganking twice. I have to admit one of the times was an idiot spawn camping on white sands.  Mostly I've only been playing in the Tortage area, been trying out different classes.  I'm on the EU server Wildsoul (PvP) and most people are going about they business completing quests etc. Mostly I have found alot of people being helpful, joining in if you take on to many mobs etc, even in the pvp areas.

That is why they have PvE servers. DOH! I've tried PvP servers on other games and just didn't enjoy it because unless your capped it's nothing but a gankfest. I wanna pvp on my terms, not on the lvl 50 going around and ruining the day of all the level 23's.

And from the looks of it, there will be plenty of pvping going on on the PvE servers once more and more people hit 80.

ARE there any pve servers?   Is it possible to level up safely before you go PVP?

If it's nothing but full pvp with idiots then, this game's dead already. 

 Edit:  PVP servs' are mandatory that you need to be in a guild to level & survive, by the way.  Unwritten rule.

um...you should all know by now that open pvp is always going to be that way. REAL pvpers could care less about getting ganked, only crybabies complain about it. you chose to play pvp for a reason and getting ganked or ganking someone is all fair game. Just f...king adapt to it and play like a man or woman, and people say this game is meant for the "mature crowd" get over it, jesus. if your corpse get camped just go somewhere esle for a while, or make friends to take revenge. there really is no point in getting mad, and if you do just blame your own god damn self because you dont expect to get ganked in an open pvp game. Personally open pvp is fine with me, you always gotta expect to be ganked some point in your life playing. Open PvP is not meant to be fair, and that should be common sense. We cant teach common sense, you gotta learn it for yourself.

I agree with the OP its just a gankfest full of mouthy fools. I also play on an RP server and kill gankers a fair bit but really..I just want to RP.

all you fools who say play on a pve server AoC does not have an RP pve server so get lost.

AoC is a gankmagedon. No point to have a clan war as we cant tell whos who.

I like the idea of aoc but hate the way the servers are set up and no I'm not rerolling..lol

Exactly !!  UO was skill based and had no levels.  Its was easy to catch up to people who had been playing longer and even if you had lower skills you could still compete to some level.  All items were crafted so no one was super uber running around. 

If you want open PVP you need to go back and learn from early UO.  Simple as that.  Its funny a game over 10yrs old had a better PVP setup then AOC.  lol.  Even UO had loot corpsing, where is the penalty in dying in AOC other than lost time?

Where have I said that was the "spokesman" for PvPers? If you had some common sense you'd actually read my post, my point (AS IN MY OPINION, not a so called "spokesman" as you have claimed)  is you dont see "REAL pvpers" come into chat forums and cry about getting ganked (in any pvp mmorpg game) have ya? Instead they suck it up and move on.

Its dumb that funcom didnt make RP PvE servers, at least one.  But there are unofficial RP PvE servers just check the AoC forums.

Guys! One player lvl 10 in front of us. Should we attack him. Not sure, we are 5 lvl 50 against 1 lvl 10. Lets ask common sense. Common sense said we should attack, kill, gank, or whatever we want with him, because you know what, because FFA PvP is not meant to be fair, it's common sense. This is were you and all the real pvpers are wrong, common sense would say, this is not a fair fight you should leave him alone. No instead you cowards hides behind the Open PvP is not meant to be fair, instead of using your common sense and judging by yourself that it is not fair and it should not be played like that. But like you said, we can not teach you common sense, you have to learn it.

This is why PvP server have less population than the others, because of people like you. I like PvP, but I like it in a fair fight. The way I see you gankers is, lets says you are lvl 50 and you go to the lvl 20 zone and start PvE there and call yourself a good player because you did not die and you kill those monster with 1 shot, would you realy feel impress about yourself, probably not. So when I see people ganking lower players (in lvl or in numbers), I see them as cowards (on your side you probably feel so powerful) too scared to lose in a real fight so they go for the easy one. The only thing you achieve at the end of the day is, one less player on your server to play with and later you will be the one complaining that your server is empty.

I am wondering where you said you were the spokesman, Oh! maybe because you said  REAL pvpers, have you notice the S at the end of pvpers, which means you are not talking only about yourself but all the pvpers, this is not common sense, it is grammar and you can not argue about it.

Jesus christ I am through arguin with you people, where in ANY of my posts have I said that i Ganked here and there? Stop being prejudice man, I only commented on people whining about getting ganked. Now if I was to say  for example "hell yea, i go here and there and gank people here and there" then be all means call me a f...king ganker i could care less.

Just join a PvE server as everyone has stated. I understand most people like PvP, but dont let your experience on a PvP server, sour your PvE experience. Remember, the PvE servers have BG's that you can join for PvP time if you want to take a break from the PvE side of things.

and what does bragging about knowing all the robert howard conan lore have to do with a game made in 2008 filled with gankers? because you are the all knowing no one should be ganking?? because robert howard never intended for his lore to be abused by gankers???

Or......you could have made the topic title abit more honost and say AoC PVP server have lots of gankers on it and you simply dislike them, so you will leave the pvp section and get to a pve server to actualy experiance what you seem to want to experiance, as i am like you and want to explore, and sorry due to my gaming experiance i already know that my playstyle will not fit on a pvp server, i also do not like gankers but luckely i don't have to meet them as WE AS PLAYERS HAVE A CHOICE, now start using it please......
