How come then number of subs keep changing each time I look around in these forums??? I have seen 8mil 9 mil and 10 mil and even as low as 6 mil?? So what is it really......???? Sorry I dont play WOW .... the sheep can play the game ..... I like games with more mature playerbase and all the flames and the childish arguing in here and rabid defense of the game is one of the reasons I don't play WOW......

LOL.  It keeps increasing.  It was 8, then it went to 9 and then 10 and now it's nearly 11 so you will probably see that number soon.  The 6 number was probably a mistake or was from quite a while ago. :)

10.7 million was the last number I saw published in a business journal that Vivendi had provided guidance to, so I think that's the official number atm.

yep, thats really poor and I dont understand this.

2) They have only added one lone battleground to the game, which you can only reach post 60, which of course requires the expansion pack.

Actually they added 4, since there werent any Battlegrounds at launch, you can play 3 without the expansion.

3) They did add an arena system, and it is very corrupt and broken. Last I heard, you had to do arena in order to acquire gear that was in the battleground reward selection. So now you have nowhere to turn besides PvE-raiding if you don't like arena.

You heard? How is it broken?

4) Professions are more of a sinkhole of time and resources than ever. Jewelcrafters and miners got shafted in 2.4 when they put epic quality gems on vendors, and the design schema at the end of a rep grind.

I agree the tradeskills in WoW are mostly lame.

5) Dailies and the rep grinds they are directly linked too, are overwhelmingly repetitive. It feels like the grind that it is. If they wanted everyone to get these reps, have those mounts, and this much money they could have handled it better IMO.

MMOS are build around timesinks and repetive play. I think WoW has quite a lot of different things to do.

6) Lack of overall content.

Um, lack of content?? Really if WoW is lacking content then You better dont try to build an MMO with lots of content. How huge shall the world be? How many dungeon, items monsters?

7) When I was there, it was hostile towards new/fresh players.

I never had problems with this.

There is no right or wrong -
There is only fun and boring.

Good summary of the state of WoW.

It's too old now with only 1 expansion, and 1 extra BG that everyone hates and only does for the daily, and Arenas are so lame and boring.

If you want the same old crap, buy their next expansion WotLK.

I've enjoyed my time spaced out between MMOs since i stopped playing WoW.  I've played EQ2 for a couple months, then tried LotRO for several, and now i'm on AoC.  It's refreshing to switch to a new MMO every now and then instead of playing the same one for years.

Well be prepared then for WotLK, because ...

3 million copies in its first week will be peanuts.

What arena was for TBC...

BALANCED world PvP (air, land and sea battles) will be for WotLK.

Do you know any other MMORPG with a real e-sports spin off with 200.000 US dollars price money?

Oh you don't like Arena, nor the Bg's nor the 28 dungeons and raids in TBC nor the Auction House you can place bets, nor the professions that let you actually make money, nor the 8 different starting zone, not the races.

I bet you don't like to fly over a complete seamless open world like Outland and land anywhere you want without ever seeing a loading screen. You know that world you LIVE in and fight over and NOT blocked by some 2D house or rock.

You only like preloaded instanced zones and copys of zones and of course lag and framedrops.

Than choose Conan: the Age of loading and framedrops and missing content (Sieges anyone?).

No problem. Have fun with the FIXED spawn point in a game that reminds me more of a closed coffin than a MMORPG.

Zorndorf, don't be an ass! I agree with you on WoW, but bashing AoC at the same time makes you realy lame, especialy when people who like AoC like it for the things it is and not for the things it isn't WoW.

I like WoW for what it is and don't hate it because it isn't what other people want it to be.
