Age of Conan

So I have been reading a lot of post since the launch. Most of them negative... I ask myself where are all the positive post?.... I will tell you all the positive posters are too busy having fun.

I was dead set on not getting AoC b/c of all the people saying that it was "unfinished" and had too many bugs. It is sad that the loudest voices are always the more negeative ones. Does this game have bugs? Yes. Does that make it a bad game? No. The most frustrating thing at this point to me is not having a bank or auction area, but hopefully that will be soon if not today after the update ;).

The people who are posting negative things are those who are having hardware issues or those who are very impatient while the programmers try to fix things. I for one have not had ANY troubles. In fact I have had nothing but a blast. This game is a combination of FFXI, Wow, And Giuld Wars (at least to me). And those were my fav mmos (FFXI was my favorite).

So for those of you being hesitant about getting AoC....here is my review

Character Customization:
Truely the customization is really nice. If any of you have played CoH then you will be very happy. There are lots of choices. Eyes, ears, chins, cheeks, mouth, nose, arms, legs...ect can ALL be tweaked to your liking. There are tattos and scars...just amazing in my opinion.

Graphics:

All i can say is that they are amazing ...just look at my screenshots. These screen shots are takin from the starting area Tortage.

Tortage is really amazing b/c all of the quest are voice acted so you get a cinematic feel. Sadly for some reason that ends when you leave Tortage, BUT it does not effect your game experience. I still was enjoying myself. I hear voice acting is only on the storyline (which is also amazing). After you finish Tortage you go to your home city which depends on your race.

This place is HUGE...maybe too huge... lol

Sound:

Sound is great! During battles the music escalates are you are being attacked by mobs. It is very cinematic. I love it. And while traveling or exploring the music is not overbearing that you have to turn it down/off. It is very well done.

Gameplay:

Gameplay over all is very enjoyable. This is game is not only meant for melee.. which I have heard some say. I have a friend who has been playing mmos with me for a long time and every time she plays a priest. She told me " I have not had so much fun playing a caster class in all my mmo experience". And trust me she takes her casting seriously. I for one am a lv 25 Assassin ( i am always a rouge). I LOVE the melee. Simply put this game as ALOT of potential.

I am very sorry many people are having troubles with the game, if they had an ounce of patients they would enjoy the game more. The bugs are there yes, but the programmers are working over time and everyday I come back to a better experience. DO NOT listen to the complainers, experience it yourself.

And another thing....nudity is not a big deal in this game. Its so stupid to hear people say everyone is running around naked.. I have not ONCE seen anyone flash me. There are not 13 year olds running a much in this game. I am having a good time. I dont know why everyone is coming to mmorpg.com to bash the game. I hope they know they are ruining the chances for other to play.

Am I missing something? I do not understand what you are getting at. Do explain.

Finally A decent positive post thats not dwelling on all the negative aspects of the game. I could write a book on the negative aspects of each and every MMO out there...they all have them remember that.  I personally picked up the game myself today and am looking forward to giving it a shot. Because in the end it dont matter what people say about a game....you have to try it for yourself. Good review :)

Why is it that people who "are always a rouge" have still not mastered the spelling?

Unfortunately this game is only good till lvl 20 or so then you start seeing a lot of problems.  At lvl 43 the bugs and issues are really starting to get me down.  My review when I was lvl 24 or so was very positive.  At this point I'd say the game is buggy, unfinished, and not worth playing to lvl 80....

This is an ok "review" I suppose but skeptical it is not.  Not by a long stretch. 

Saying complaints are because of flaws on the complainers parts and making excuses for the programmers is the opposite of skeptical.

Not that i think AoC has had a bad launch, but this thread title is misleading.

Well, I thought the review was a nice change.  So many people bash the game for not being fun, I agree with the OP most of what she says (assuming its a she) is accurate.  And just to set it straight its Rogue, I used to make the same mistake back when I played EQ lol >_<.  It has only been a week, to say the game needs alot of work is an understatement, but to say I am going to stop playing it because it has problems is also premature.  Bugs are always going to be in a game initially, thats just the way MMO's work, give it one year, if nothing has changed or been mostly fixed by then, then id consider the game forfeit, but not before. 1 Year, or at the very least 6 months.
