The game is just like the real world, there are aholes all around. But usually the word "PvP server" attracts hordes of them. There is nothing really you can do about it except get in to a guild/groups/play with friends. Otherwise its better to play on a PvE sever, i am not saying that to be an ahole, its just a matter of experience. If it makes your playing experience better why not?

Of those who say nothing, few are silent.

Ampris you seem like a decent person and I respect you for that.  I am not a fanboi of AoC or one of these hardcore this and that guys but I will say this - what happened to you sucked but why post about it?  Is it really surprising that there are complete and utter scumbag tools who happen to log off Xbox live for 10 minutes to gank?  These people do exist and most of them are very immature but you can't let it bug you.  Coming on to these forums to discuss it is your right.  But I am seeing this as more of complaint than a discussion.  There is nothing to discuss that guy was a douche, but your on a pvp server and should eat it like everyone else.

Want to know what I would do?

I would have come back and slayed his ass.  Then I would ran to the nearest res point and camped him 3x for being a f*ck stick.  I know that doesn't detract from what he did, but trust me it will make you feel better.

You can thank WoW, who welcomed these players into their realm with open arms and changed the face of MMOs and the MMO market forever.

Now that people are paying their subscription, reputation means everything in a PvP server. And payback is a plate server cold ;)

Come over to a PvE server. You may still have the immature community but you wont have A-holes doing this to you anymore.

Couldn't of said it better myself, but I'll be stickin with the pvp server.  It's more entertaining even if cheapness is there.  They'll eventually mop up the current system and award punishment to gankers and hopefully a reward system to bounty hunters.

Real supportive friends are more important than rules in a FFA PvP system. I remember back in Lineage 2, the whole guild would go down hunting the odd guy that was harrassing a guild member. We had zero issue going deep red. Who would attack an army of 10-20 red people without facing the same fate that the harrasser did? Our only issue were the rival guilds, but when you're commited to help a friend, you're going all the way. It was a risk worth taking.

It's a bit early for people to create social bonds. But it will happen. The friends you make are your most important asset in a game like this. Not the epics. Not the gold. Not the trophies.

It's got nothing to do with the type of server. It's just that after wow all the idiots and whinners joined the mmo bandwagon along with every1 else we enjoy having in our guilds. People act like retards in pve servers also. Sure they won't turn and kill but they can ks you, train you to get u out of the area, ninja your loot. The lvl of idiocy is absolutely the same, it's just the server rules that change.

RP-pvp servers, or pvp servers with altered grouping rulesets tend to have better quality crowd. That is a fact. If u need an explenation it's probably because most "hardcore" see the words rp or ruleset and go "ewwwwwwww carebear convention" and things like that. It may not be the case in AoC yet but it is most other games i have played. Even in shadowbane.

I'm passing through Conall's Valley, I come across a guy roughly 4 levels lower then I, getting attacked by 5 NPCs. Its obvious he is going to die, looks to be a ranger. I run up, pull three of the guys off him, he is able to handle the last two while I finish these three off.

After the fight, he tells me 'thank you' and thet he was about to be killed. I move on and get jumped by 2 more NPCs just down the road, and he roots me and starts shooting me in the back. He kils me with very little effort, I revive and ask him what the hell was that about, and had a small conversation with him; with his replies being the following during the conversation. "Lol it was like over 9000", "You got owned -----", "your gonna get raped", "go reroll pve lolol"

I told him I was definatly going to return for a more even fight, he said thats not how he rolls, and that he would be charging his laser waiting for me. When I got back he was no where to be found.

This is NOT the first time I run into people like this, who are just absolute jerks. I don't mind picking a fight with someone, or having a grudge against a guild, but come on, do some people have any respect for anyone other then themselves

Omg, that is hilarious.  I agree he was a jerk...but picturing the whole thing as you describe it is funny.  No good deed goes unpunished I guess, lol.
