Seems like the Report may have been griefing, If people are spawn camping another player for 30 mins to an hour... thats kinda lame.

True yes it's a PvP server... Anf that rule set is somewhat unfair and abit tiresome after a while, especialy if your running solo and/or in a small guild.

I Think the GM was just trying to get the guys to back off a bit, as we do not see all the details in those screenies.

Either way, Game CO's need to make a design element to help reduce these problems, Yeah it's easy to say tuff it's a PvP server, but then again I hardly think it's fair if lets say 3-5 lvl 30's are ganking one lvl 20ish player.

easy solution is to add immunitiy for a minute or 2 for fresh zoning. Have a lvl CAP for PVP, can only attack others that are in a +/- 3 range of your charachter. Or even a different PvP server rule set server with those implamented.

Either Way if a GM is asking players to back off on a PvP server... they musta been ganken that dude for a long time

like you said pvp server not carebears server, GM should had shutup and ban the carebears not the gankers!!!

There's so many ways to avoid spawn campers.

1.Go in hide mode as fast as you can.(if u have the skill)

2.Res to another point. If not available, stay dead till he is gone.(who is he gonna kill after everyone is dead?)

3.Change instance. Top right of screen, the little triangle between the clock and the map. He cannot kill you in a different instance.

There's even more ways to do this but it requires brain power so im not gonna post them.

So 3 obvious ways to avoid to get spawn CAMPED and not KILLED ( you are going to get killed once, we're trying to avoid the camper now.)

But, everyone finds it easier to do this. In this particular order as well.

1.Keeps ressurecting his character at the same spot the camper is - over and over again.

2.After 20mins he decides that the OOC channel in the chat is the best place to start whining in.

3.After he is told he is a dumb carebear in the OOC channel by the rest of us, he starts crying on AoC forums.

4.After he is told the same thing as above in the forums too, he joins MMORPG.com and every other gaming forum / fansite / blog and keeps his whining there.

5.Goes to bed cause its too late.School tomorrow.

6.After school opens up PC and plays AoC.

7.Dies during PVE. Spawns to the nearest res spot and gets killed by someone who is weak / lame enough to spawn camp.

8.Repeats the whole process.

Since this according to many fanbois is the ultimate Guild vs Guild game out there, join a guild and get them to help? I m not sure why they haven t made this a priority to be fixed.

U dont really get what happened.

These ppl kept killing the spawn camper that killed their lowbies.

And the lamer reported them.

Sure im not in anyone's side , but if u kill a camper a few times is fine.

KOS or not its a bit harassing killing someone for an hour...

I haven't got spawn camped "yet" but funcom should do what EQ2 had to do. Give a 30 second immunity upon zoning into a new zone.

To Ascension08: Players are NOT able to defend themselves when zoning into a new area. Theres a good 3-5 second gap from when you have control over your character after you zone,,,which means,,,people can see your character 3-5 seconds before you complete the zoning process. So,,,,ITS AN EXPLOIT PEOPLE ARE USING WHEN ZONE CAMPING OTHERS.  One cant defend themselves If their basically paralyzed long enough to get themselves killed or nearly killed without having the chance of doing anything.

THIS IS FUNCOMS PROBLEM THOUGH. PLAYERS WHO LOVE TO GRIEF ARE JUST USING THIS TO THEIR ADVANTAGE. But, I'd never waste my time doing this simply because I'm not a child. It's pointless to me to kill those that cant even fight back. That's not pvp, it's griefing. Although, thers many kids out there who love to grief more than fighting a fair fight. And when they actually lose, they're the first ones crying on the boards for a nerf of the class that killed them fairly simply because they suck at true pvp and all they can do is grief people,,,

 

Right, I for one am one of those people who, if running by, sees someone killing a character's avatar and that avatar is doing nothing to fight back because he's zoning, I'll go kill the attacker. Or if I can't, I'll get a few people to help. But yeah that's just me. Leave it up to the players or put in some rules, but if the company has to take it into their own personal hands, that's not a good design.

I agree 100%  If the design is flawed, then funcom should correct the issue and not ban ppl for taking advantage of a cheap feature which shouldn't be in the game.

I m not disagreeing to a point. It s lame sure but the system allows it to happen. It won t stop no matter how many times some GM says stop. They need to internally change the system so it doesn t happen. No one that likes ganking cares if it s harassing, so they ll continue to do it. FFA pvp always has this issue in some facet or another.

I didn't realize release-pvp was expected to be anything other than garbage?

I didn't realize we're all princes princesses kings and queens, I didn't realize we get everything perfect upon request.

What I'm saying is, every mmo I've ever played around release time, has sucked something fierce in all of the 'later' game stages, including PVP.

I say 'later' game stages because most games Release with PVP focus at later levels, as in... WoW didn't start doing super-low level pvp untill how far into it's life? No I don't mean open random 'i jacked you' pvp.

And if you're talking about open PVP at lower-mid levels, the game is ... how old? And it takes a game about how long for the players to start creating their own pseudo-structures involving pvp? Let's give AoC roughly the same amount of time. Then we'll start throwing flaming bags of doggy-biscuits.

I dunno if this is the OP's on experience, but whoever it was DESERVED to be banned. A game is NEVER supposed to make a sport of continually ganking the same people OVER AND OVER. That not PVP or game that just sociopathic. If he does not realize it, he should not play PVP at all. There is a difference between a war-GAME which is STILL a GAME not real WAR, and cold blood murder, especially repeated, psychopathic mass murder. A PVP game is a reflection of competitive sports not insane aggression. Its like in many solo games where people are said, they can play evil roles and they are dissappointed because they dont know the difference between evil and insanity.

Palpatine or Vader or whatever archetypical evil guy also didnt run around killing people at RANDOM.

I am just surprised Funcom is SURPRISED about it. They brought it in THEMSELVES with all their ruckus about WAR and GORE and evil killing and whatnot. You get what you call for.
