Well I still cannot access the main forums, people arent answering my questions in game so I wil post here; also I did a search and didnt find what i was looking for.

Dark Templars get the Slam ability before level 5.

On May 20th, launch day, everytime I used the Slam ability I actually saw my opponents being knocked back, I thought that was very very cool.

May 21st to May 24th everytime I use that ability I never see my opponents getting knocked back; does anyone know why that is? Does anyone who can log into the official forums know if they are going to refix it or was the knockback overpowered so thats why I dont see the animation anymore;?

Thanks for the help

A DT was the highest class I played in Closed Beta. Slam seemed to work the first few levels I got it but after level 10 I never saw it actually knockback anyone so I quit using it.

Stand up for what you believe; Even if you stand alone.

I played a DT only as far as level 10 in my quest to find which class felt 'right' to me, and DT was just not it... it just didn't shine in any way but hey, I only took it to level 10 and characters probably don't 'shine' much until 20... but my philosophy is that in an MMORPG if you're going to have classes, all classes should show some shine ASAP.  My Barbarian was awesome by level 8-10.

Did you even read the OP question regarding DTs?

D'oh you're right mate, I started to ramble as the question reminded me of how 'boring' the class felt to me and kind of weak/unable...

To answer the OP, the Slam did work for me but only sometimes and only on NPC's of lower level.  I played a DT 2 days ago... the ability was there and working.

From character creation and up to level 5 I can really remember that Slam really did knock back opponents.  After the 1st day of release I cant recall it working at all.  They patched it the next day if I remember right (the game that is) but of course it didnt say anything about the ability.

I know it cant be for target levels cause I was just barely able to kill off a BOSS of level 18 when I was a standard level 15.  I consistenly kill targets (humanoids too) thats of equal or greater value than my own level and while "Slam" still does damage and the character animation works the enemy however does not fly backwards like it did the first 5 levels and or the first date of release (may 20th)

So again I just dont know if they (Funcom/Devs) thought that Slam was overpowering at launch because that also gave like a 3seconds where the target was helpless.

Makes no sense if the ability reads "knocks opponent back" and it really does not :(

Thanks for the replies so far.

Noticed the same thing here, by the time I tried to check out what was up the beta boards where down :(.

Was hoping it'd be fixed in live version.

I believe all melee classes get slam (I know my Bear Shaman got it).  Seemed like it only worked until about level 7 or so and then it was replaced by my normal class based abilities.

Mastering the Art of Chill

My HoX has the Slam Ability also, however it just doesn't knock anyone above 7 or so. I just never use it now. Back in OP I had DT and it also never worked.

All MMO's have grinds. If you don't like to Grind then MMO's are not for you.

Not too sure about my info here - just my theory. I believe it's something to do with the rank of the skill. Could be that once you get past a certain level and you're still on rank 1 of that skill it's likely hood of doing what it's meant to decreases. As a DT at level 25 my slam worked fine untill 7-8 knocking back every time. BUT sometimes my slam doesn't do anything except the damage + animation, and sometimes on the off chance it does knock them down. I have personally been ganked by higher level classes with their slams (probably a higher rank) and have been knocked down on every occasion they use it. Degenerative seems most obvious to me
